11.04.2022 I'm back on board after an EPIC 100hr long Adventure race covering almost 500km on foot, mountain bike, kayak and packraft, taking in some of the finest scenery that the Northern Rivers has to offer, Rocky headlands of Illuka, beautiful Yamba waterways, amazing granite country of Washpool National park, mountain biking alongside the Boyd river through Dalmorton, paddling the foaming whitewater of the Nymboida river. The WEEKEND OF FORAGING that was on this weekend has now been postponed until the 4th/5th of June. Hopefully things will be a little drier by then. If you were booked in, please check your email for updates. If you've messaged me over the last week and a half you should soon get a reply. Thanks for your patience. Scott
07.04.2022 Lord of the flys returnsApparently they are starting a new life on the far side of the river with their newly acquired skills. Shelter is under construction, fire pits done, spears are ready, primal instinct has kicked in. All we need is a Wooly mammoth to come past. Sorry parents they want to stay.

03.03.2022 Mother Nature has once again showed us her raw power and beauty. We have come through some what battered but safe and feeling grateful. After getting about 1300mls of rain over a few days (700+ in one day) riverside living wasn't looking so idyllic anymore. The house was spared of major damage, the sheds and outbuildings not so much. Thanks to all who have checked in with us and to those who have sent inquiries about upcoming events I'll get back to you soon :) Take care
18.02.2022 I <3 Bush Food I was generously gifted some Bunya Flour during our Weekend of Foraging by Teale Lowis. Thank you so much. :) So decided to try it out and make a yummy Bush Foods Brekky.... Bunya pancakes with Davidson's Plum syrup. So good!
25.01.2022 Don't you love it when you're weeding the garden and you're snacking on all those weeds and you don't even need to pick any veg because you've got so much chickweed, sow Thistle, cobblers peg greens you decide to cook them for dinner. My fave weed snack are these sweet, juicy roots of Oxalis or Sour Sop... they're like a carrot/Apple. If you want to learn more about edible weeds checkout our Weekend of Foraging event coming up in October. Link in the comments.
24.01.2022 Some goodies you'll get to taste at the Weekend of Foraging.

09.01.2022 Weekend of Foraging Day 2 (Sunday) we forage for plant materials that can be used for purposes other than as food. Plants can supply most of our survival needs. Learn how to harvest fresh drinking water from a vine, which foliage and bark make the best cordage. We look at plants for dyeing, weaving and medicine. One of the highlights on Day 2 is learning what plants to use to make a fire drill and learning to make fire only using foraged plant materials. ... It's so cool watching people's excitement as they bring forth the magic FIRE
