25.01.2022 *** Millewa *** The Farm Machinery Improvement Grants Program is now open. Grants of up to $10,000 are now available to farmers in the Millewa region to assist with maintenance of farm machinery and equipment, including tractors, harvesters, seeders and hay baling equipment.... Victorian Farmers Federation are delivering these grants as part of the Victorian Government’s Drought Response. 23.01.2022 ** Farm Household Allowance ** As part of the Australian Government’s Economic Response to the Coronavirus, they have announced one-off payments of $750. Current recipients of the Farm Household Allowance are eligible to receive this payment.... This payment will be automatic, with most payments to be made between 31st March to mid-April. 15.01.2022 ** SunRISE Mapping & Research ** Did you know that SunRISE Mapping & Research is now a division of Sunraysia Rural Counselling Service (SunRCS)? SunRISE Mapping & Research has been a not-for-profit community-based organisation for twenty-five years and officially became part of SunRCS in January 2017.... We customise maps for a range of purposes including export registration, Freshcare compliance and irrigation upgrades. ‘Crop maps’ for export registration are generally A4 size maps with tables showing planting details of hectares, row by plant spacings, number of plantings, varieties, rootstocks, year planted and irrigation method. Figure 1. Sample crop map Figure 2. Sample contour map Maps prepared for Freshcare are similar to maps for export registration, but include mapping or labelling of farm buildings and infrastructure such as chemical sheds and fuel storage sites. For irrigation system designs, SunRISE sends digital map layers of aerial imagery and contours to the irrigation design company. Different digital formats are used depending on the preference of the design company. This is a free service for eligible SunRCS clients.
