14.01.2022 Galston firies assisted Glenorie RFB at old Northern Road this afternoon with bush alight. A tree down on powerlines sparked a bush fire. Fast work by all involved meant the fire was extinguished quickly.

13.01.2022 Immensely well deserved.

13.01.2022 The wild and windy weather created a bit of storm damage and trees down for Galston firies this evening - right near the station! Luckily we were already heading to the station for a meeting and were close at hand to respond.

12.01.2022 Last Sunday Galston RFB attended the Galston Uniting Church for this year’s RFS ‘Blessing of the Fleet’ service. In addition to Galston, Arcadia and Middle Dural brigades also attended. Due to COVID restrictions, this year limited the amount of people allowed to attend and instead, the church service was broadcast to a wider audience online. Thank you to all involved.

09.01.2022 Fact: Your safest option is to leave early. A bush fire can be a terrifying situation, intense heat and flames will make you tire quickly, it will be difficult to see and breathe. You may become confused or disorientated. Powerlines and fallen trees can block roads and make driving dangerous. It’s always better to leave early, before the fire arrives. Visit myfireplan.com.au and make a bush fire survival plan, it will help you make important decisions like when to leave or what you need to be prepared to stay. #getreadyweekend

07.01.2022 Fact: Bush fires are unpredictable and in dangerous conditions, you may not get an Emergency Alert message in time. 03.01.2022 You don’t have to live right near the bush to be at risk. Even if your home is a few streets back, you may be at risk. Can you guess the main reason homes are lost to bush fires? #getreadyweekend
