05.01.2022 It's Fact Filled Friday time! Our local focal point this month is our beautiful Toowoomba City Hall! The one that stands today is actually the 3rd construction The 1st was a timber building on the corner of James & Neil Streets from 1862-1881, and the 2nd was a brick construction at the same location until 1898, when a fire destroyed the School of Arts which stood in the location of our present day City Hall... The foundation stone was laid in 1900 & the building was officially opened later that year so the building that stands today is 120 years old The building was refurbished for $3.4 million in 1997 have a look at the pictures accompanying this post to see how well our lovely City Hall has stood through the years
