18.01.2022 Just a little encouragement to get as many of you as possible to Woolmers for their Rose Festival on Sunday 16th November. It is a magnificent setting and we are joining in again this year with our rhubarb stall. Last weekend at Entally House was an enjoyable market and my rhubarb marshmallow sold very well....I'm making more for Woolmers! It will be good to see you - Holger will be there as well so you can ask him all your tricky growing questions. I'm just about to print out some easy recipes - pass by, collect a recipe and join the rhubarb renaissance.......

14.01.2022 The North East will have representation at the Taste of Tasmania in Hobart this year......yippeee!! We have teamed up with Little Rivers Brewery and Cheesecake Baculo to present "North East Temptations". We are excited by the opportunity and hope to see as many supporters from home as possible pass our combined stall which will be on Salamanca Lawn. Rhu Bru came home with a Bronze Medal from the Sydney Fine Food Awards. So, our traditional RhuBru Rhubarb Juice has won gol...d, silver and bronze medals now from Sydney and Hobart shows. You can come and visit us at Garden Fest at Entally house on the 8th and 9th November where we will have all our usual products as well as a selection of rhubarb based biscuits and cakes. 08.01.2022 Holger and Jan spent last weekend hosting product tastings at Devonport and Ulverstone stores. The response from those who sampled the compote ( with a little icecream!) was largely positive. We can see we still have a bit of work to do though in converting a few older sceptics - who have interesting stories to tell of a childhood experience of sour rhubarb - to join our rhubarb renaissance! It is rewarding to hear that people appreciate more locally produced products are making it on to the shelves of the larger supermarkets. To keep us there we need your support so look out for the local Tassie products at your local supermarket.

07.01.2022 For all of you RhuBru lovers in Launceston, struggling to find a place to purchase our products. Wursthaus Kitchen Launceston has just started stocking some jams, cordials and all of the compotes. Next time your in the quadrant mall pop in and check out the display, maybe even grab some lunch or a coffee while you are there!

04.01.2022 A big thanks to all those who contacted us after the Landline programme yesterday on the ABC. ( ...sorry I don't know how to add a link!!!!) Holger was amazed at the number of hits on our website and the online sales were fantastic. We will continue to drive the RHUBARB REVIVAL...you are welcome to join us.

04.01.2022 Mercurios Bros at Pooraka Produce Market in Adelaide have started their own advertising campaign for our compotes. We are excited that some one on "the big island" enjoys our product as much as we do! More sales = more production = more employment in our region - a simple equation, one step at a time we will make a difference. So come on - join the rhubarb revival!!!

01.01.2022 We are happy to tell you that you can purchase our rhubarb traditional compote in about 400 Woolworth Stores around Australia. We know it is in Perth WA as our son has had friends tell him they have seen it! It has kept us busy that is for sure. A couple of weeks ago we had 20 people picking and 9 people in the factory - Holger hardly knew which way was up as he juggled his time and tried to keep everything going.... The very cold weather in Tassie means that the rhubarb... is growing VERY slowly so getting enough raw material to meet production needs has been hard work as well. We have had an increase in on-line sales too - seems the cold weather is encouraging people to cook rhubarb pies and crumbles!! Always a good idea...here's an easy recipe - delicious and so simple!! Rhubarb Sponge Pudding. Preheat oven to 180C. Mix a packet of butter cake mix as per directions. Pour mix into pyrex casserole dish. Chop up a decent bunch of rhubarb and arrange on top of cake batter. ( you can drain a compote packet and use the fruit - save the juice to serve as a syrup on the side). Pour on 600ml of cream. Sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of brown sugar. Place in oven and cook for 50 -60 minutes. Check after 30 min and if browning too much cover with foil. Dessert is done when cake is crisp around the edges and sponge springs back when pressed. Dust with icing sugar and serve with extra cream and icecream. Guaranteed you will make it more than once.......
