20.01.2022 Yellow bin waste will be recycled again ... starting today. But only if it's sorted properly. Geelong, Surf Coast, Golden Plains and Queenscliff councils hav...e signed a deal with Cleanaway. There are some minor changes to what can go in the yellow bin: NO: Coated cardboard cartons used to package milk, juice and other liquids Polystyrene Plastic bags YES: Empty clean rigid plastic labelled 1,2, 3, 4 and 5 (lids separate) Clean paper and cardboard Clean steel and aluminium cans and foil Clean glass bottles and jars (lids separate) Help spread the word to avoid contaminated recycling going to landfill.
