21.01.2022 After 25 years of serving me, and now my clients well, this little Casio keyboard has finally had its last press of everyone’s favourite demo button This is the keyboard that I first started learning on back when I was just a little six-year old and had to sit on phone books to reach the keys. I remember seeing an ad in the school newsletter advertising lessons with Kids on Keyboards, and begging my parents to have lessons ~ I have a lot to owe to my parents, the very pati...ent keyboard teacher.. and most importantly, this very keyboard, for starting my musical journey. This keyboard has been sampled for recording, and seen many live venues around Brisbane as a gimmick for its midi 80’s synth tones, it’s even been featured on Rage in a film clip, and in the last few years, had many small hands skim over the keys in Music Therapy sessions! If it weren’t for this keyboard, I may never have studied music, or even been led to my career as a Music Therapist! So I bid a fond, sad farewell to my trusty friend here ~ thank you for being such an important part of my musical journey and life

20.01.2022 Today we are wishing everyone’s favourite therapy assistant an extra special day for his birthday ~ Happy Birthday Monte!

13.01.2022 At the moment I’m fortunate enough two have two lovely Music Therapy students completing their placement with me, and I love the new creative ideas that they bring to sessions! For a little while now, Miss Lou and I have been working on projection, breathing and speech clarity ~ and this week, with the fun recommendation of student therapist Vlada, we had such an enjoyable and productive session, using party blowers as a warm up activity to develop Lou’s awareness of breath a...nd voice projection. After the activity, Lou herself reported, Swell sound, breathing good! which was such positive feedback to receive, knowing that Lou could hear the difference! I really believe that it’s important to be open to new ideas, and especially to fresh eyes ~ I feel like as a Music Therapist, it’s so important to be humble and open to learning new skills and knowledge! There’s certainly always more to learn big thank you to Vlada for the creative idea!

10.01.2022 A little something to start your week off with some real good vibes! This young lady has worked hard at it for a couple of years now, singing and playing guitar every single week with me, and more recently, with the amazing, super talented team at The Buttery Music School! If you’re ever in need of music lessons, I couldn’t recommend them enough This weekend, I was fortunate enough to be invited to her first gig, and I was blown away by how much of a natural performer she is! It has been quite the journey to watch unfold, and I can’t wait to catch her next performance ~ I’m absolutely stoked with how far she has come! Go Phoebe’s!!
