If you're interested in learning kora but don't own one, Mohamed has a limited number available for hire for online tuition - we have only 3 left so get in quick! Lessons will take place via Zoom, free to download on the App Store. Tuition fees are as follows: 1-hour lesson: $70 30-minute lesson: $40 Kora hire: $20 per week - if you decide to purchase the kora, the amount paid in here fees will be deducted from the sale price, on special for $700 each Contact us at [email protected] for more info

24.01.2022 To all of our wonderful colleagues, clients and community, We thank you all for your support of Rhythm of Life over the past year and we look forward to sharing the joy of West African drumming, dance and culture with you in 2020! While Mohamed is busy conducting his cultural tour in Guinea, I will be taking bookings throughout January for events across 2020. We look forward to discussing your upcoming events- a reminder to book early for the busiest week on our calendar, Cu...ltural Diversity Week. The dates for 2020 are 21st-29th March, with Harmony Day on 21st March. Also looking ahead to Guinea 2021 - our next cultural tour will take place 29th Dec 2020 to 25th Jan 2021! 10.01.2022 Introducing September Intensive guest artist Mohamed Camara. Performer, songwriter and Guinean music educator, Mohamed Camaras rich Manding heritage has shaped... a life-long passion and creative practice. As a child Mohamed was apprenticed to internationally renowned Guinean master drummer Ton Ton Sylla, and he went on to perform in many of Guineas leading drum and dance ensembles, including Ballet Bolonta, Les Sorciers de Guinée and Ballet Destin. Based in Melbourne since 2007, Mohamed shares his Manding heritage with Australian audiences to inspire cultural awareness and exchange. 01.01.2022 One year ago today we were preparing to go onstage for a very special concert at the Melbourne Recital Centre with the Jarabi Trio. This was a unique experience for us, bringing the richness of Mohameds Manding heritage (Guinea, West Africa) together with contemporary styles in this beautiful performance space in the heart of the city. We were honoured to be part of this world music series presented by the Bôite @boitworldmusic, and @melbrecital. Our thanks to Jason Rosewarne for capturing the intimacy of the evening with his beautiful images.
