17.01.2022 The UN came to visit us for 'World Children’s Day'!! Julia Dean and Cigi Surrao from UNIC Canberra popped by the YWCA Canberra Clubhouse to help celebrate 'Worl...d Children’s Day' - the day, which happens on 20 November each year, promotes international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare. Today also marks the anniversary of the date that the UN General Assembly adopted both the Declaration and the Convention on children's rights. Julia fielded many questions from the inquisitive Richardson Primary kindergarten class before partying with them at a disco hosted by The Canberra Clubhouse Crew DJ’s! This fantastic video show-reel of the UN visit was filmed and produced by the YWCA Canberra Clubhouse. Special shout-out to new Clubhouse member Peta E for composing the music featured in this video. Please feel free to ‘share’ this video far and wide - thanks in advance. 15.01.2022 As part of our inquiry into how things change as they grow, the preschool Butterflies group conducted an experiment with bean seeds. We wanted to find out if seeds grew in different growing conditions. The seeds we kept in the cupboard, out of the sun, grew a lot quicker than the seeds we kept in the sun. We also put some snow pea seeds on cotton wool so that we could watch them grow. At the end of the term, our seed plants were getting too big for their containers. We planted them in the garden so that we could keep watching them grow. These are the beans and snow peas that have been picked from the plants we grew. Both the beans we kept in the cupboard and the beans we kept in the sun have kept growing and have beans growing on them.

15.01.2022 The Canberra Clubhouse studio has been a hive of activity this past week. Great to see Clubhouse member Lily back behind the microphone yesterday recording a b...eautiful version of 'Little Talks'. Not even a mid-song remote-control car studio interruption could throw Lily off...a sign of a true professional! Enjoy.. #The Clubhouse Network #WhereTechnologyMeetsImagination

08.01.2022 This is serious goosebump-inducing stuff! Nobody has been working harder in the Clubhouse recording studio than Lilyana the last few weeks. As you can hear all... that practice has definitely paid off - this beautifully delicate version of G Flip's '2 Million' (her favourite singer) showcases Lily’s vocals perfectly. Keep up the amazing work, we're really proud of you! #The Clubhouse Network #WhereTechnologyMeetsImagination

07.01.2022 We could not been prouder of our wonderful preschool children who had their first formal kindergarten transition visit yesterday. The children listened to the story, 'The Giant's Ice-Cream' before creating their own version of the ice-cream. The preschool children have two more formal transition visits later this term. We also take other opportunities to visit our kindergarten friends, regularly meeting in the library to share stories and playing on the junior playground.
