20.01.2022 We’re committed to getting Victoria back on its feet. That means bringing people together to produce projects and initiatives that improve local communities like North Richmond. The Victorian Government’s new $1.5 million North Richmond Community Projects Program is offering grants for projects that boost local infrastructure, amenities and engagement in North Richmond. ... Grants of between $5,000 and $200,000 will be awarded for projects including gardens, artwork, signage, equipment and training activities. It’s just one part of the Government’s $500 million million Housing Building Works package dedicated to creating thousands of jobs and boosting Victoria’s economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic. 19.01.2022 Great work Victoria. cases acquired locally. A huge thank you to everybody who is coming forward to get tested - we can't do this without you.
15.01.2022 Today's work in passing the Change or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition Bill 2020 in the Legislative Assembly was an important step in protecting Victorians from this harmful anachronistic practice. Every Victorian has the right to be who they are. One more house to go.
13.01.2022 I know this slip road has been frustrating locals for a while, so I'm happy to announce after working with Ben Carroll MP and the Department of Transport we’re making important safety changes on the Alexandra Parade turnoff from Hoddle Street, which will give drivers more visible speed signs and keep locals safe. This includes installing two 50km/h speed signs to remind drivers of the current limit, while also painting the speed limit on the road. Cyclists will benefit from... improvements to the cycling lane, while there will also be upgrades to pedestrian markings along Hoddle Street. The turn off to Alexandra Parade from Hoddle Street will close tonight between 9:00pm-5:00am. Motorists should follow the signed detour using Hoddle Street, Heidelberg Road, Queens Parade and George Street, and allow extra time for their journey.

08.01.2022 It was an enourmous pleasure to be able to announce with Gayle Tierney MP and Sheena Watt MP that Melbourne Polytechnic will receive $40 Million from the 2020/21 Victorian State Budget. This project will transform the site into a first-class education, industry and community precinct. The current precinct will be redeveloped with an entirely new building and car park while the existing buildings will be entirely modernised and refurbished. ... It will allow Melbourne Polytechnic to revitalise the delivery of TAFE in the area - ensuring their learning spaces teach the skills the community and local industry want and need. Work is expected to commence in 2021 and finish in 2023, allowing the facility to open for the first semester of 2024 with construction expected to create 80 jobs. 08.01.2022 Yesterday, the Collingwood Basketball Association said goodbye to a champion of our community - Megan Rouse. Megan has decided to take a step back from her Operations Manager role that she has dedicated so much of her life to over the past 10 years. In my time knowing and working with Megan, she has consistently approached her role with a great attention to detail and a sincere commitment to community that has gone above and beyond what one would expect.... Pictured here in front of the construction of the upgrade of the Collingwood basketball stadium in 2018 - an outcome Megan had championed for many years. The sense of belonging Megan fostered at the Collingwood Basketball Association has offered young people in our community a space to develop in many different facets of their lives. I know many of the young athletes in our community will go on to have a debt of gratitude to the Collingwood Basketball Association and your positive impact over many years. Thank you for all of your tireless service to community Megan and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Collingwood All Stars Basketball
