24.01.2022 SKIN CANCERS COULD INCREASE AS PEOPLE CANCEL MOLE CHECKS DURING PANDEMIC The president of the Australasian College of Dermatologists is warning that they ar...e bracing for a spike in skin cancer presentations across Queensland following the COVID-19 pandemic. Restrictions currently in place have led many to cancel their regular skin check, giving time for cancers to grow. Associate Professor David Francis says while the telehealth expansion is a positive, it hasn't really helped in their field. "Skin cancer work is incredibly difficult to do by video conference or telephone obviously it's much better to actually see the patient," he said. "We've got to balance that with both the safety of our patients and our doctors staff nursing staff and admin staff." "It's very important that we don't just let all these other medical issues and there are many other medical issues be affected while we are concentrating on covid." ABC News: file photo

14.01.2022 This is Alexis and her story that we are sharing to help raise awareness for Rare Disease Day Australia which is on the 29th February. My granddaughter Alexis ...suffers daily from the pain of EB and she's only 2 years old next month. We often wonder how she'll cope as she grows and what's in store for her. Some days we have highs and some days her pain and suffering takes over. We love her dearly and to us she's a blessing in disguise. Our little angel that has been sent to teach us all about resilience and strength. You can help us this Rare Disease Day by sharing our stories about EB or by sharing your own story! #FIGHTEB #RAREDISEASEDAY #EBAWARENESS
