25.01.2022 The Richmond Campdraft’s - Mystery Novelty Event - sponsored by Richmond Spar; was a battle between members from Julia Creek, Cloncurry, Winton, Sedan Dip, Saxby, Einasleigh, Richmond and Hughenden Campdraft Committees. The hilarious Mystery Novelty Event was originally started by the Richmond Campdraft in 2015, to give back a bit of fun and also as a way of saying Thank You to all the volunteers of the campdrafts, who dedicate their time to put on these events each year. In... the end the two teams of six, from Richmond and Einasleigh ran off in the final relay with Einasleigh winning the well earned $600 cash!! This is the second year in a row Einasleigh's team has taken home the bragging rights! Congratulations to the winning team and to all the Committee Teams who participated! Thank you to Richmond Spar - Lisa and Will - we are very grateful for your continued support and generous sponsorship of this event! Video: Richmond vs Saxby *first round "No Hands"!! On behalf of the committee we would like to say a massive thank you to Gerald Easton for his dedication, leadership, commitment and hard work over the years! We are sad to see him go however feel we are in good hands as we welcome Dan Roselt into the President Role. We can’t wait to see where this road leads! 09.01.2022 The dust has finally settled over the campdraft grounds at Richmond for the 2019 draft & what a weekend it was! We've left this very special post until today because we felt it needed its own recognition. Sunday saw the David Carter Memorial Open Draft proudly sponsored by Peter McHugh, Causeway Townsville run & won by Will Durkin riding Hazelwood Conspiracy (a mare owned by Kim & Evan Acton - good friends of David Carter's) with a 264 points after 3 rounds. Will took home w...ith him a lovely bronze made by Jaye Hall, a replica of David’s Spurs & Quart Pot, along with a RM Williams Leather Overnight Bag. A massive thank you must go out to the Carter Family for not only donating the bronze but for their continued support, especially for doing the marshalling, front gate, back yard, scoring & ring cleaning all day for us on Sunday. Your close knit family connection, community spirit & involvement is something you should all be extremely proud of. Photo Credit thanks to Trish Hudspith & Sally M Batt
