The $130 million Richmond office block, a 15-storey timber tower in Collingwood and a $116 million Frankston shopping centre expansion have been given the green light by the state government. Six major projects in metropolitan, rural and regional Victoria have been granted priority approval by Planning Minister Richard Wynne in a bid to create jobs and bolster Victoria’s economic recovery. As restrictions ease it’s crucial there’s an ongoing supply of projects to secure existing jobs, create more employment opportunities and keep investment coming into our state,’’ he said. The office tower, near Burnley Station at 462-482 Swan Street, will be among the tallest in Richmond and feature shops on the ground floor. The $85 million, 5-green star commercial development at 36-52 Wellington Street in Collingwood will be built out of prefabricated timber and is expected to take 15 months to construct. 20.01.2022 We as a Community need a Council whose members understand that their job is solely to represent and care for the community that they are representing. Decisions by Councillors must be made and votes cast with the community in mind and not their own personal predilections. If a person cannot do this or chooses not to do this because ‘they know better than the average person’ they quite simply should not stand to represent the community. Councillors are not generally voted in b...ecause of their expertise or because of any degrees that they may hold. They are voted in to be the voice of their community, to represent and fight for the needs of this community; to be a strong voice for those that chose them. That is their purpose. Our community has been lacking in true representation for far too long. As a community we have been walked over by our ‘representatives’ because these representatives did not represent us; they did not care what the community wanted because they believed that they knew better and that their ideology was the ‘only’ way. Whoever gets a seat on Council I hope that they do not lose sight of why they are there and who put them there. See more

18.01.2022 The loveliest day ever talking to great people in our community. Some great stories and wonderful support albeit very brief as I pass by. Thank you for making this past week of my letter drop deliveries so joyful. It is keeping my spirits up on the long road to get to council as your independent! ... I sit exhausted but energised. I'm a long-time resident of Melba who has owned 3 successful hospitality businesses in Richmond, I've balanced budgets, dealt with diverse customers, and yes, dealt with the vagaries of Council.... My affiliation with the people of Richmond, Cremorne and Burnley run deep. This Community, deserves representation on the issues and concerns that matter to them and the community that they live in. I will ask the hard questions and I will get the answers, I will shake things up and it will be for the benefit of the residents and traders. 07.01.2022 Apologies to anyone and everyone who has felt offended by my representation of a very meaningful poem. I have been asked why I have paraphrased the original poem by Christian German Pastor Martin Niemoller. I was looking at where we are today, the messages from both our local government and beyond, and what struck me, is that we need to go back to lessons we thought we had learnt long ago. Pastor Niemoller’s poem underscores the universal lesson that we cannot forget that BO...TH hate and apathy are destroyers destroyers of our community, our humanity, and all the things we hold dear. He was ashamed of his own cowardness and that of other intellectuals and religious in the face of the persecution of others and spent his life making up for it. This poem deals with his guilt and repentance and calls to people to understand what persecution and personal responsibility mean and how apathy can lead to destruction. As a child of immigrants who lost everything and escaped only with their lives to the Sinai, where they survived until the war was over, my intent was not to offend, but to remember, and pledge to ensure that we don’t allow divisive forces to divide as a community. For my part, not allowing apathy to stop me from taking action when community harmony is at risk. See more

06.01.2022 Why is it that some candidates feel the need to destroy and deface other candidates posters? Every single candidate has a right to stand and to be heard. Bullying is unacceptable in any form by anyone.
