24.01.2022 WEBINAR: Soil biology: under the microscope Tuesday 8 Dec, 12pm - 1pm There is recognition amongst farmers and scientists alike that soil biology is an importan...t component in healthy soil. But selecting what to measure is confounding and analysing what the data really mean can be even more so. The presentation will put under the microscope some of the key methods for measuring ‘who’s there’ and ‘what are they doing.’ The methodologies are being applied to Soil CRC field trials to help us understand changes to soil biological properties and how these may more broadly benefit soil health. Presented by Soil CRC Program Leader Dr Lukas Van Zwieten from NSW Department of Primary Industries.

11.01.2022 WILDLIFE ALERT: Gum and eucalyptus foliage is in short supply for possums currently in care with WIRES in the Northern Rivers. The leaves are essential for thei...r daily diet. WIRES volunteer Marian van der Kroon is asking the Federal, Coorabell, Goonengerry and Eureka communities if WIRES volunteers can pick fresh gum and eucalyptus foliage on their property. "The branches need to be fairly easy accessible and preferably have new growth." If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Marian at [email protected] or call 6688 4058.
