25.01.2022 Getting rid of the AFM (active fuel management) on a 6.0lt VE Calais this afternoon using a full AFM-delete-kit from VCM Performance and freshly cleaned, tested and faced heads from Sean at SA Cylinder Heads PS to all you LSx guys out there.. I wouldve loved to pull the Cam out to check bearing wear but this customers budget didnt allow opening that can of worms

14.01.2022 Here at Richmond Mechanical, no jobs too big or small... A few pics of a customers BMW X5 E70 11 thats just finished having a timing chain replacement job done in-house. Heres the kicker... The timing chains in these late BMW N57 diesel engines are on the back of the engine facing the transmission... So that meant first removing the engine, then pulling out the injectors, removing the rocker cover, timing cover, front differential and sump to access and replace all 3x ...timing chains, all 4x chain guides, and both tensioners using OEM parts. 12.01.2022 Im chuffed to say that ive finally finished the Stagea that ive been working on for awhile.. its had a full timing belt kit + waterpump and ive fitted a greddy style Foward facing plenum, 90mm throttle body, front-mount intercooler piping etc etc... its been a big job but the owner and I both couldnt be happier on how it turned out! Heres the before + after pics

12.01.2022 Urethane front lower control arm bushes fitted, serviced and gearbox oil replaced with Redline MT-L today on a customers VW Golf GTI mkIV.. The urethane bushes give much sharper steering response and I wouldnt use anything else in the gearboxes behind the VW 1.8lt turbos.. The Redline MT-L works wonders

08.01.2022 A nice little care-package for Alexs 5litre VR wagon from our friends at Pedders Suspension.. Its already got Pedders all thru the rear-end.. now its about to cop the full front-end treatment: sportsryder front struts(short-stroke), springs, 30mm swaybar, heavy-duty links, urethane castor/radius rod bushes (rubber inner control arm bushes and stut-tops to keep it driving nice) and pretty much new everything-else front end related! It should drive smooth-as and still handle like its on-rails! Stay-tuned #pedders #pedderswagon

08.01.2022 Quick update and a few pics of the project cars.. ive been really busy over the xmas/newyear period but the XB Falcon that i started a V8 conversion on a while ago is all pretty much together, just needs to have a few things finished off and the Nissan Stagea that came in awhile agos coming along nicely... timing belt kit etc all fitted.. and all the original intake manifold has been stripped and Ive just sat the new foward-facing-plenum in place to get an idea of where im going to run everything #richmondmechanical #rms

It came in driving terribly and after we had performed an inspection, the list of issues was nearly 3 pages long!.. After giving it alot of much-needed TLC and fitting a K+N cold-air-intake.. Weve had plenty of cool projects in recently and still in-the-build, but heres some pictures of a recent overhaul performed on a BorgWarner 78-series differential out of a 5ltr VR Commodore Wagon. The complete centre hemisphere was replaced with a Drivetech tru-trac style unit, the original 3.08:1 ratio crown and pinion gears were swapped for a genuine spicer 3.9:1 set. We replaced all carrier, pinion and wheel bearings, dialed-in + linished the axles, checked + set the pre-load, backlash and gear engagement... 05.01.2022 This Customers Hyundai I-max came in for a service with an oil leak and a lack of power due to a big split in one of the flexible intercooler-pipes.. 2 of the other joiners were also very soft so they were replaced with silcone bends trimmed to fit. The intercooler was cleaned out and an oil catch-tank was fitted also to minimise the amount of oil getting blown back into the inlet too

04.01.2022 Finished off the cooler piping on the stagea this arvo... Everyone that swaps over to a greddy style intake plenum on the nissan RB engines generally re-locates the battery then cuts a big gaping hole where it used to be to tun the piping through... that just seems like your asking for a big-fat-regency-defect.... so ive managed to snake the piping around under the chassis rail tucked up all nice.. then ive welded in a flange for the BOV and a fitting for the IAC into the hot-side of the piping. We will be selling these as a bolt-on kit for people with R33/34 skylines and C34 stageas with a greddy style foward-facing-plenum
