19.01.2022 Here is a screen shot (and link), from the recently released promotional video for Visit Snowy Valleys which just happens to (briefly) feature our Tumbarumba to... Rosewood Rail Trail and other mountain bike trails in the area - watch carefully at about the 2:50 mark! A reminder that the postponed opening weekend planned for 26 September 2020 has been postponed again (due to COVID restrictions) and is now scheduled for Saturday 10 April 2021. Please let your friends know if they were planning on coming down for the weekend. The rail trail will still be open just no celebrations happening yet. Also be aware of snakes becoming active in the area and the occasional protective magpie. https://www.facebook.com/SnowyValleys/videos/600964610600597 We'd love to hear your thoughts on the video!

13.01.2022 A shot from the Central West Cycle Trail, there is some amazing gravel out there.
10.01.2022 The historic trestle bridges on the East Gippsland Rail Trail give it a unique feature that needs to be preserved as part of the planned redevelopment of the tr...ail. I’m supporting a major upgrade of the trail to boost the visitor economy through cycling and hiking, and make our region an even more attractive place to live and work. We need to restore the Snowy River trestle bridge so it can be walked and ridden on; save the remaining section of the burnt Wairewa bridge; maintain the Stony Creek bridge at a safe standard; and ensure the Nicholson River bridge remains open. The total cost over several years would be $10 million across the 100km trail. The trail surface and approaches to towns along the route need upgrading to improve the visitor experience and many plans have been developed over the years. I’ve read them all and pulled together a proposal which I’m sending to all levels of government and community groups proposing that bushfire recovery money be directed at this task ASAP. Linking the trail to Lakes Entrance at the same time would connect some of our biggest towns with an off-road and safe exercise option. We would make our visitor economy less seasonal and more resilient to natural disasters and be part of the broader network of 11 rail trails which are being upgraded across Gippsland. What do you think? #lovegippsland

04.01.2022 One thing I feel privileged to do is view the submission that are made by the President of Rail Trails Australia Damien McCorhan and his hard working committee ...and Tim Coen from Rail Trails for NSW on our behalf to get Rail Trails established all around Australia. Believe me these people do their research and deal in facts and spend many volunteer hours making connections to politicians and governments departments. These Rail trails don't just happen so much work is done by all the rail trail committees all around the place. So support for them is important and simply by like liking Facebook post , becoming a supporter or financial member helps or a email to your local member telling them you support the establishment of rail trails it's a numbers game and numbers count.
01.01.2022 The Boyne Burnett Rail Trail is one step closer to completion tonight. The 200 kilometre historic rail link stretches from Gayndah to Gladstone, and it's hoped... it will be a major tourism drawcard. #WINNews6pm Glenn Butcher - Member for Gladstone Desley O'Grady Councillor Gladstone Regional Council Gladstone Regional Council
