25.01.2022 NSW has reported four new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. Five cases were also reported in overseas travellers in hotel... quarantine, bringing the total number of cases in NSW to 4,265. There were 17,492 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with 18,466 in the previous 24 hours. Of the nine new cases to 8pm last night: One was locally acquired, with the source under investigation, and three are close contacts of this case. Five were acquired overseas and are now in hotel quarantine. Today’s new locally acquired cases are in the Southern Highlands area. Contact tracing and further investigations are underway. One of the new cases attended Moss Vale Public School, and another of the new cases attended Southern Highlands Early Childhood Centre. Both sites are closed today for cleaning and contact tracing is underway. The school and childcare centre are working closely with NSW Health to identify close contacts. Anyone who lives or works in the Moss Vale area needs to be particularly careful to watch for any COVID-19 symptoms. Should even the mildest of symptoms develop it is important to get tested that same day and isolate until a negative test has been received. There is a new walk-in clinic at Moss Vale Showground, 16 Illawarra Highway, Moss Vale. It is open today from 10:30am 5pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 9am 5pm. NSW Health thanks the community for coming forward to get tested and continues to urge everyone with even the mildest of symptoms to get tested. Due to recent cases and positive sewage tests in the region, this particularly applies to the people of South Western Sydney, especially those in the following areas: Leppington Catherine Field Gledswood Hill Varroville Denham Court West Hoxton Hoxton Park Middleton Grange Horningsea Park Carnes Hill Edmondson Park Prestons Busby Miller NSW Health is treating 69 COVID-19 cases. One patient is in intensive care and is being ventilated. Ninety-four per cent of cases being treated by NSW Health are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care. Even though NSW has had low numbers of locally transmitted COVID cases in recent days, social and community gatherings are expected to increase during the upcoming holiday period. It is very likely that COVID-19 will continue to circulate in the community, including among people with mild or no symptoms, so it is important we all continue to take advantage of our outdoor venues and maintain the COVID-safe practices we have become used to, such as physical distancing, wearing a mask on public transport and in places where you can’t distance from others, and good hand hygiene. Contact tracing to contain the recent cluster of cases depends on businesses having effective COVID Safety plans and customer sign in processes. The recent cluster in South Western Sydney highlights the importance of these measures. NSW Health is working in close cooperation with a number of other agencies to provide the Liverpool community and local businesses with extra support to help achieve COVID-safe practices. There are more than 300 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. To find your nearest clinic visit https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics or contact your GP.

25.01.2022 Fourteen new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, bringing the total number of cases in NSW to 3,844. There were 24,632 tests rep...orted in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 30,282 in the previous 24 hours. Of the fourteen new cases to 8pm last night: - One is a returned traveller who is in hotel quarantine - Ten are linked to a known case or cluster - Three are locally acquired with their source still under investigation Eight of the new cases are linked to the Sydney CBD cluster, bringing the total number of cases in this cluster to 23. Of the new cases, two are household contacts of previously reported cases, three attended the City Tattersalls Club, and three were close contacts of people linked to this cluster. Further investigations have found one case reported yesterday is also linked to this cluster. NSW Health is investigating whether the CBD cluster originated in the City Tattersalls Club and then spread to workplaces in the city and to households across Sydney and the Central Coast. To assist in identifying earlier and possible undiagnosed cases, NSW Health is asking anyone who attended the Club between 4 August 2020 18 August 2020 to get tested for COVID-19 and isolate until a negative test result is received. Genomic sequencing of the virus from cases in this cluster are related to other recent clusters in NSW. This virus is genetically different to that of the Marriott Hotel security guard, who had a strain that had come from overseas. All identified close contacts of cases linked to this cluster are being contacted and told they must isolate for 14 days, get tested, get another test if any symptoms develop and stay isolated for the full 14 days, even if a negative test result is received within this period. Among the new cases today, two are household contacts of cases linked to Liverpool Hospital. Prior to diagnosis many of the recently confirmed cases have attended a variety of locations and a full list of locations is available on the link below. New COVID-19 cases have visited the following locations in Mosman, St Ives and Rosebery and people attending at the same time must monitor for symptoms, get tested immediately if they develop and stay isolated until a negative test result is received: - Archie Bear café, Mosman Rowers - 24 August 11am to 12 noon and Tuesday 25 August 9:00am to 9.30am - Rosebery Post Shop, 371 Gardeners Rd, Rosebery - 26 August 1:30pm-1:40pm - St Ives Shopping Centre, 166 Mona Vale Rd, St Ives - 24 August 2:30pm-3:30 pm NSW Health is treating 67 COVID-19 cases, including six in intensive care and four who are ventilated. 85 per cent of cases being treated by NSW Health are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care. Due to the widening spread of the CBD cluster across multiple locations in the Sydney and Central Coast, NSW Health is strongly advising people who live or work in these areas to not visit aged care facilities at this time. This is a precaution while the cluster is investigated, cases are identified and isolated and contact tracing is done. NSW Health will continue to closely monitor the number and location of cases in Sydney and the Central Coast and will adjust the advice regarding visitor restrictions on aged care facilities according to the level of local risk. NSW Health will provide an update during the next week. COVID-19 continues to circulate in the community and we must all be vigilant. It is vital that people get a test as soon as they develop symptoms. People should ensure that they stay at least 1.5m from others and that they wear a mask in situations - especially on public transport - where physical distancing is difficult Locations linked to known cases, advice on testing and isolation, and areas identified for increased testing can be found here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates. Anyone identified as a close contact and directed to undertake 14 days self-isolation must stay in isolation for the full 14 days, even if they test negative during this time. To help stop the spread of COVID-19: - If you are unwell, stay in, get tested and isolate. - Wash your hands regularly. Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out. - Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others. - Wear a mask in situations where you cannot physically distance. COVID-19 testing clinics can be found here, or visit your GP: https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics

Casual contacts must monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if they develop. After testing, they must remain in isolation until a negative test result is received. Testing numbers have dropped recently, which is a concern. NSW Health is appealing to the community to come forward for testing right away if you have even the mildest of symptoms like a runny nose or scratchy throat, cough, fever or other symptoms that could be COVID-19. There are over 300 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. To find your nearest clinic visit https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics or contact your GP. 24.01.2022 7 new cases of #COVID19 have been diagnosed in NSW between 8pm on 22 July and 8pm on 23 July. For the latest list of COVID-19 locations, visit: https://nsw.gov....au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates There were a record 36,169 tests reported in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 24,640 in the previous 24 hours. The seven new cases are: Six people associated with the Thai Rock restaurant cluster. One case who has no identified source. Of the six Thai Rock cluster cases, three are linked to Our Lady of Lebanon church, and three are close contacts of other cases, including two at a work place. A previously reported case visited Costco at Marsden Park for 3 hours on 19 July from 11am to 2pm. Other patrons who were present at that time are encouraged to seek testing if they develop symptoms. There were no new cases linked to the Crossroads Hotel today. There are now 56 cases associated with the Crossroads Hotel cluster, 52 cases associated with the Thai Rock restaurant and eight cases associated with the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club. Given the current context of local transmission, NSW Health has directed all public hospitals that health workers must now wear a surgical mask if they are within 1.5m of patients. Patients are also required to wear a mask, where possible. This advice applies to hospital and community health settings and comes into effect today. While most cases have been linked to known clusters, community transmission continues and NSW Health is calling on people across the state to redouble their efforts to stop the virus spreading. Key messages for the community are: Avoid non-essential travel and gatherings. Of particular concern is transmission in venues such as hotels and restaurants, the gym and social gatherings. Anyone feeling unwell even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat must seek testing and self-isolate until they get the result. Stay at home, and do not go to work or catch public transport until you are cleared of COVID-19 At all times stay 1.5 m from other people. Dont go anywhere there is crowding. Clean your hands regularly with soap and running water for 20 seconds or use alcohol base hand rub. Cough and sneeze into your elbow. Dont host, or go to, a gathering of more than 10 people at home. Dont go to the gym unless the equipment is thoroughly cleaned before and after customer use by supervising staff or yourself, and there is good spacing between machines and customers. We strongly recommend wearing a mask in situations where you are unable to social distance. A full list of COVID-19 testing clinics is available below, and people can visit their GP:https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectio//Pages/clinics.aspx If people have been directed to undertake a full 14 self-isolation period, they must stay in isolation for the full period, even if they undertake a test that comes back negative. This is because early testing may not detect an infection, and release from self-isolation based on a negative test could allow an infectious person to infect others in the community. The self-isolation period is 14 days as most people who are infected and develop symptoms will develop symptoms within 14 days of infection. People who work in high-risk settings such as healthcare facilities or aged care homes must not to attend work if they have symptoms and must get tested immediately. People should also not visit relatives in these settings if they have even the mildest of symptoms or have recently returned from Victoria or attended affected venues. There are 96 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health, with three in intensive care. One is being ventilated and on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). In NSW, 2,799 people are known to have recovered from COVID-19.

Some recent cases have reported thinking their symptoms were just flu. Little influenza is circulating at present in the community. Anyone with even mild symptoms - such as a runny nose, sore throat, fever, loss of taste or smell - should assume it is COVID-19 until proven otherwise with a simple test and isolate themselves while awaiting the result. Areas of interest in the Hawkesbury include Agnes Banks, Bowen Mountain, Grose Vale, Grose Wold, Hobartville, Londonderry, North Richmond, Richmond, Richmond Lowlands, Tennyson, The Slopes and Yarramundi. The closest testing clinics to West Camden are: Camden Hospital, 61 Menangle Rd Camden, 8.00am-6.00pm, seven days a week 14 Queen Street Narellan, 8.50am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday. The closest clinics to North Richmond are: Regatta Centre Drive-through, Sydney International Regatta Centre (enter via Gate B, Old Castlereagh Road, Castlereagh), 9.00am-12:30pm and 1.00- 4.00pm, seven days a week Penrith Drive-through Clinic, Club Paceway (enter via Ransley St, off Mulgoa Road), 9.00am-4.00pm, seven days a week. It can also mean there are recently recovered cases, as people who have previously been infected can continue to ‘shed’ virus fragments into the sewage system for up to four weeks after they have recovered. The most recent cases in the West Camden catchment were reported in September, but no one living in the North Richmond catchment had recently tested positive for COVID-19. For more information on the NSW Sewage Surveillance Program, visit: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au//c/Pages/weekly-reports.aspx It’s vital we all continue to maintain physical distancing and keep up good hand hygiene, and anyone who is feeling unwell isolates and gets tested without delay. 19.01.2022 WATCH: Dr Jeremy McAnulty provides a COVID-19 update for Monday 3 August.

19.01.2022 NSW has reported seven new cases of locally transmitted COVID 19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. Six cases in overseas travellers in hotel quarantine were al...so diagnosed, bringing the total number of cases in NSW to 4,106. Of the new cases to 8pm last night: Six were acquired overseas and are now in hotel quarantine Seven were locally acquired. Two new locally acquired cases, publicly announced on Monday 12 October, are doctors who worked at the A2Z Medical Clinic and are linked to a previously reported case of unknown source. At this point, these cases have no known links to other clusters. Another five new locally acquired cases today are members of the same household in South Western Sydney. They have now been identified as part of the ongoing investigation into four previously reported unlinked cases, including a nurse from St Vincent’s Hospital. NSW Health can advise one of these new cases is a disability support worker who has worked at three small group homes in South Western Sydney. Contact tracing and investigations with seven clients and their staff is underway. Another one of these new cases attended the Great Beginnings Oran Park childcare centre on 1, 2, 8, and 9 October while infectious. The centre is closed today. Contact and investigations are underway. NSW Health can now also advise the five new cases provide a link between the previously four unlinked cases that include a nurse from St Vincent’s Hospital, and a previously reported cluster of five people in South Western Sydney linked with Liverpool Hospital. This means 14 people reported between 8 October to today are now linked. There were 8,609 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with 7,391 in the previous 24 hours. Please come forward for testing right away if you have even the mildest of symptoms like a runny nose or scratchy throat, cough, fever or other symptoms that could be COVID-19. Testing numbers have dropped recently, which is a concern as it limits our ability to find people with COVID-19 early and contain further spread. This is important throughout the state, and particularly the Western and South Western Sydney areas. Locations linked to known cases, advice on testing and isolation, and areas identified for increased testing can be found here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates. NSW Health is treating 59 COVID-19 cases, including one in intensive care who does not require ventilation. Eighty-eight per cent of cases being treated by NSW Health are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care. COVID-19 is still likely circulating in the community and we must all be vigilant. To help stop the spread of COVID-19: - If you are unwell, get tested and isolate right away don’t delay. - Wash your hands regularly. Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out. - Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others. - Wear a mask when using public transport, rideshares and taxis, and in shops, places of worship and other places where you can’t physically distance. When taking taxis or rideshares, commuters should also sit in the back. COVID-19 testing clinics can be found here: https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics, or call your GP.

18.01.2022 Seven new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, and one previous case has now been excluded following further investigation, bring...ing the total number of cases in NSW to 3,987. Testing numbers have dropped over the past two weeks, which is a concern particularly in areas like South Western, Western and South Eastern Sydney. Of the seven new cases to 8pm last night: Three are overseas travellers in hotel quarantine One is from Victoria in hotel quarantine Two are locally acquired and linked to a known case or cluster One is locally acquired with their source still under investigation One new case is a household contact of a previous case linked to Concord Hospital. One new case is a healthcare worker at Liverpool Hospital. Source investigations are still ongoing and contact tracing is underway. One new case is a returned NSW resident from Victoria. All passengers on the same flight from Victoria into Sydney are in hotel quarantine. NSW Health can also advise a new additional case has now been confirmed in a student of Blue Mountains Grammar school. The school is now closed while further tracing and cleaning is undertaken. This case will be included in tomorrows official numbers. While the number of locally acquired cases recorded in the past 24 hours is low, the virus is likely circulating among people in the community with mild symptoms. As such, the risk of outbreaks and a resurgence of cases remains. NSW Health is again urging anyone feeling unwell even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat to come forward and get tested, so cases in the community are identified as quickly as possible. This is even more important with the upcoming school holidays, when people will travel across the state. Locations linked to known cases, advice on testing and isolation, and areas identified for increased testing can be found here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates. NSW Health is treating 86 COVID-19 cases, including six in intensive care, three of whom are being ventilated. Eighty-six per cent of cases being treated by NSW Health are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care. COVID-19 testing clinics can be found here: https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics, or call your GP.

If COVID-19 symptoms develop, get retested. Hotel Jesmond on 29 July between 7.30pm and 9.30pm Wallsend Diggers on 30 July between 7.30pm and 9.30pm A person who was infectious with COVID-19 attended Fitness First at Rockdale on 27 July 2020 from 11.25am to 12.30pm, and a person who was infectious attended a yoga studio in Bondi on 23 July 2020 from 12.15 to 1.15pm. Both cases are associated with the Apollo Restaurant cluster at Potts Point and were previously counted in the public health alert. Close and casual contacts have been individually identified. There are now: 101 cases associated with Thai Rock Wetherill Park cluster 58 cases associated with the Crossroads Hotel cluster 35 cases associated with the funeral events in Bankstown and surrounding suburbs, including eleven associated with Mounties in Mount Pritchard. 26 cases associated with the Potts Point cluster, including 20 cases linked to the Apollo Restaurant cluster and 6 cases linked with the Thai Rock Restaurant Potts Point cluster (two cases attended both). While most cases in the past week have been associated with local clusters and close contact with known cases, seven have not been linked to known cases. These unlinked cases have been in people from South Western Sydney, Western Sydney, South Eastern Sydney and Sydney LHDs. To help stop the spread of COVID-19: - If you are unwell, stay in, get tested and isolate. - Wash your hands regularly. Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out. - Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others. - We strongly recommend you wear a mask in situations where you cannot physically distance. A full list of COVID-19 testing clinics is available at the following link, or people can visit their GP: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectio//Pages/clinics.aspx Isolation is mandatory for anyone identified as a close contact of a case. Anyone directed to undertake a 14-day self-isolation period must stay in isolation for the full time, even if they test negative. Early testing may not detect an infection, and release from self-isolation based on a negative test could allow an infectious person to infect others in the community. Most people who are infected and develop symptoms will do so within 14 days of infection. There are 95 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. Eight people were in intensive care and five were ventilated as of 8pm last night. 86 per cent of cases are in non-acute, out of hospital care.

People who attended the following venues where a previous case visited at the times listed should monitor for symptoms, no matter how slight, and immediately isolate and get tested if they appear: Auburn Ramadan Pharmacy from 1.30-2.30pm on Wednesday 19 August Westfield Shopping Centre Burwood from 6-7pm on Thursday, 20 August, including Kmart and Woolworths from 6.30-7pm Service NSW Burwood 2.30-3pm on Friday 21 August. There are currently 89 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. There are seven COVID-19 patients in intensive care and five are ventilated. 84 per cent of cases being treated by NSW Health are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care. While case numbers have remained low this week, the virus continues to circulate in the community and vigilance must be maintained. It is vital that high rates of testing continue in order to find the source of the cases still under investigation and to identify and stop further spread of the virus. 13.01.2022 The COVID-19 Delta variant is more transmissible than the previous variants of COVID-19 we’ve experienced. This makes it more important than ever that we all fo...llow the health advice. Follow the stay at home orders if they apply to you, and check the confirmed case locations regularly: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates If you experience any cold-like symptoms please get tested immediately and self-isolate until you receive a negative test result. 13.01.2022 Something as simple as sharing a pen or a menu, can lead to the spread of COVID-19. Dont forget to wash your hands to protect you and your loved ones. Its up to all of us to keep healthy and well. https://www.nsw.gov.au/c/how-to-protect-yourself-and-others

13.01.2022 For the eleventh consecutive day, NSW has reported no recent cases of locally transmitted COVID 19. Eleven cases in overseas travellers in hotel quarantine wer...e diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, bringing the total number of cases in NSW to 4,057. There were 5,385 tests reported in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 4,789 in the previous 24 hours. Testing numbers have dropped recently, which is a concern. NSW Health is appealing to the community to come forward for testing right away if you have even the mildest of symptoms like a runny nose or scratchy throat, cough, fever or other symptoms that could be COVID-19. People in the Hawkesbury and South Western Sydney are particularly being called on to come forward for testing if they have any symptoms after the state’s sewage surveillance program detected fragments of the virus at the North Richmond and West Camden treatment plants. The most recent cases in the West Camden catchment were reported in September, but no one living in the North Richmond catchment has recently tested positive for COVID-19. Virus fragments in sewage can mean that there are active cases in the catchment area, but people can continue to ‘shed’ virus genetic material for some weeks after recovery. COVID-19 testing clinics can be found here: https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics, or call your GP. NSW Health is treating 50 COVID-19 cases, including three in intensive care, none of whom are being ventilated. Eighty per cent of cases being treated by NSW Health are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care. COVID-19 may be continuing to circulate in the community and we must all be vigilant. 10.01.2022 13 new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, and 2 cases were excluded following further investigation, bringing the total number ...of cases in NSW to 3,410. As cases resulting from community transmission continue to be reported, NSW Health is calling on people across the state to redouble their efforts to stop the virus spreading. Everyone needs to be aware that there has been transmission in venues such as hotels and restaurants, gyms and social gatherings and therefore they should exercise particular caution in those situations. While it is not a legal requirement, it would be preferable and safer for the time being to avoid all non-essential travel, and not host or attend gatherings of more than 10 people at home (not withstanding that the legal limit is 20 people). Everyone should observe social distancing and hygiene measures. We strongly recommend wearing a face mask in situations where social distancing is not possible. It is critical that anyone feeling unwell even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat seeks testing and self-isolates until they get the result. Stay at home, and do not go to work or catch public transport until you are cleared of COVID-19. All South Western Sydney clinics are open and will continue to operate while there is a need. A full list of COVID-19 testing clinics is available below, and people can visit their GP: https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics There were 15,903 tests carried out in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 21,167 tests in the previous 24 hours. There are 90 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health, with two in intensive care. Neither is now ventilated, though one is on ECMO. In NSW, 2,799 people are known to have recovered from COVID-19. The 13 new cases are: Ten people associated with the Thai Rock Restaurant in Stockland Mall Wetherill Park: four people who dined at the restaurant and six contacts of people who dined there. The two cases reported on Monday at Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral are contacts of a diner at Thai Rock. Two people who were contacts of cases linked to the Crossroads Hotel cluster. One overseas traveller in hotel quarantine. There are now 50 cases associated with the Crossroads Hotel cluster, 26 cases associated with the Thai Rock restaurant and eight cases associated with the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club. NSW Health does not comment on suspected cases of COVID, only confirmed cases that pose an ongoing public health risk. If a confirmed case of COVID-19 attends a venue when they may be infectious, NSW Health carries out a risk assessment on that venue to determine whether other people may have been exposed and whether there is a public health risk. NSW Health notifies the venue if it is deemed there is a public health risk and advises them of the actions they need to take, for example, closure for deep cleaning. As case investigations continue, we have found a number of venues have been attended by cases. Information on all venues is available here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates. People who work in high-risk settings such as healthcare facilities or aged care homes must not to attend work if they have symptoms and must get tested immediately. People should also not visit relatives in these settings if they have even the mildest of symptoms or have recently returned from Victoria or attended affected venues. It is essential people follow directions they receive about home isolation and quarantine and maintain COVID-safe practices of physical distancing of 1.5 metres, cough or sneeze into their elbow, and regularly wash their hands.

09.01.2022 PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT BATHURST NSW Health is tonight calling on anyone who attended the Bathurst 1000 motor race on the weekend as well as residents of Bathurst... with any symptoms that could signal COVID-19 to get tested as soon as possible after remnants of the COVID-19 virus were detected in raw sewage in the area today. The sample comprises wastewater from over the past weekend, and could indicate current or a previous infection in someone who attended or worked at the Bathurst 1000 motor race, a visitor to Bathurst, or even a local resident. Visitors to and residents of Bathurst must be aware of any symptoms of illness, and immediately isolate and get tested should even the mildest of symptoms appear that you think might just be a cold. Symptoms like a runny nose or scratchy throat, cough, tiredness, fever or other symptoms could be COVID-19. After testing, you must remain in isolation until a negative result is received. NSW Health is urgently undertaking investigations, which include reviewing lists of all those known to have had the virus who attended or worked at the race. The only way to find new cases and prevent further transmission is to increase testing. There are more than 300 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. To find your nearest clinic visit https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics or contact your GP. Sewage testing for molecular markers of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, started in July, adding another tool in the fight against the global pandemic. There is no evidence COVID-19 is transmitted via wastewater systems.

08.01.2022 With Greater Sydney under stay-at-home orders and a number of COVID-19 venues of concern being announced across western Sydney, we need to take appropriate step...s to ensure the safety of your loved ones and our health heroes. Due to the current and evolving COVID-19 situation, no visitors are permitted in our hospitals and healthcare facilities from tomorrow, Monday 5 July 2021. Our hospitals are now on red alert and this restriction has not been introduced lightly but it has been introduced to provide the utmost protection against COVID-19. Exemptions will be made available in extenuating circumstances only with a centralised process in place. We have always and will continue to look after the health, safety and well-being of your loved ones. We encourage patients and their families or friends to continue to remain connected especially through phone calls or video calls. If patients need help with this, our nursing staff are on hand to provide help if required. We hope this measure will be for a short time as we all respond to the latest COVID-19 outbreak. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please continue to stay-at-home, sanitise, socially distance, wear a mask, get tested if you have COVID symptoms and get vaccinated if you’re eligible. We need to do everything we can to stop the spread of COVID-19.

07.01.2022 Seventeen new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8.00pm last night, bringing the total number of cases in NSW to 3,584. One previously reported... case has been excluded. Early this morning an 83-year-old man, who had COVID-19 linked to the Crossroads Hotel cluster, has passed away. NSW Health extends condolences to the family at this time. His death will be recorded in tomorrows figures. There were 23,458 tests reported in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 25,318 in the previous 24 hours. Of the 17 new cases today: Three cases are travellers in hotel quarantine One case is an NSW resident who returned from Victoria Two cases attended the Apollo restaurant Two cases attended the Mounties Club in Mount Pritchard Seven cases are contacts of known cases One case is locally acquired with no known source identified Two cases are under investigation Based on new information, NSW Health has again revised the times that cases while infectious attended the Mounties at 101 Meadows Road Mt Pritchard. Anyone who attended the club during the following times must isolate and get tested regardless of symptoms, and stay isolated for a full 14 days even if they test negative. If symptoms develop, get tested again. Monday 20 July 12.01am - 2.30am Tuesday 21 July 12.15pm 5.30pm and 8.00pm 12.30am on 22 July For the full list of dates for the Mounties and other risk venues and locations associated with confirmed cases, please see: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates. Anyone who was at The Mounties on any of these days at other times should also watch for symptoms and immediately isolate and get tested should even mild symptoms occur. For one of the cases where NSW Health accessed the COVIDSafe App data, a previously unrecognised exposure date from a known venue, Mounties, was identified. This resulted in the identification of an additional 544 contacts. Two people in this group presented for testing and were subsequently confirmed to have COVID-19 There are now 98 cases associated with Thai Rock Wetherill Park, 57 cases associated with the Crossroads Hotel, eight cases associated with Batemans Bay Soldiers Club, 25 associated with the funeral events and five associated with Mounties in Mount Pritchard. There are 24 cases associated with the Potts Point cluster. While most cases in the last week have been associated with local clusters and close contact with known cases, seven in the last week have not been able to be linked to known cases. These unlinked cases have been in people from South Eastern Sydney LHD (2), Western Sydney (2), South Western Sydney (2) and Sydney (1) LHDs. Its therefore so important that we all keep our family and loved ones safe. To help stop the spread of COVID-19: - If you are unwell stay in, get tested and isolate - Wash your hands regularly. Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out - Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others - We strongly recommend you wear a mask in situations where you cannot physically distance A full list of COVID-19 testing clinics is available at the following link, or people can visit their GP: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectio//Pages/clinics.aspx Anyone directed to undertake a 14-day self-isolation period must stay in isolation for the full period, even if they test negative. This is because early testing may not detect an infection, and release from self-isolation based on a negative test could allow an infectious person to infect others in the community. The self-isolation period is 14 days as most people who are infected and develop symptoms will develop symptoms within 14 days of infection. There are 107 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. Nine people were in intensive care and four were ventilated as of 8.00pm last night. Eighty eight per cent of cases are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care.

07.01.2022 Keep your loved one safe. Given the current risk of COVID-19 now in the community, please check with the residential aged care facility before visiting. Remember, if unwell dont visit. Remember to practice physical distancing and good hand hygiene.

A student at Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School in Bossley Park and a student at Freeman Catholic College in Bonnyrigg have tested positive for COVID-19. Both students have been in isolation since the weekend. Neither student has been in attendance since the sites underwent their deep clean. Additional contact tracing is underway. This morning a new case has been reported in a prisoner in Parklea Correctional Centre. The case has been in isolation. Contact tracing and environmental cleaning is underway; and the inmate has been asymptomatic throughout. NSW Health has recently started a research program to test sewage for traces of COVID-19 across the state. This research supports the public health response to the pandemic. Sampling has commenced at a number of metropolitan and regional locations across NSW. Initial samples collected at the Perisher sewage treatment plant on Wednesday 22 July 2020 returned a positive result for the presence of COVID-19. Further sampling and analysis is required to assess the significance of this initial positive result. The positive sewage result can be due to shedding of the virus by someone who may have previously had the illness, with the virus shedding through their system for up to four weeks later. While no cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Perisher or Thredbo to date, its important that anyone who was in this area get tested if they have even the mildest of symptoms. Anyone feeling unwell even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat must seek testing and self-isolate until they get the result. Stay at home, and do not go to work or catch public transport until you are cleared of COVID-19. A full list of COVID-19 testing clinics is available at the following link, or people can visit their GP: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectio//Pages/clinics.aspx There are 100 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. This is because early testing may not detect an infection, and release from self-isolation based on a negative test could allow an infectious person to infect others in the community. The self-isolation period is 14 days as most people who are infected and develop symptoms will develop symptoms within 14 days of infection. There are 102 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. Eight people are in intensive care, with four being ventilated. Eighty nine per cent of cases are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care. NSW Health undertook a time-limited survey to measure the recovery status of patients with COVID-19 three weeks after the onset of illness, by interviewing the case. Cases reporting resolution of all COVID-19 symptoms were considered to have recovered. Cases who had not recovered at three weeks were called in the following weeks until recovery. By the week ending 11 July 2020, approximately 85% of cases had recovered see: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au//covid-19-surveillance-repor. NSW Health has suspended this survey while focussing on the recent increase in community transmission of COVID-19.

04.01.2022 Two new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, bringing the total number of cases in NSW to 4,017. Both are returned overseas trave...llers in hotel quarantine There were 7,616 tests reported in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 7,765 in the previous 24 hours. Testing numbers have declined in recent weeks. NSW Health is appealing to the community to come forward for testing right away if you have a runny nose or scratchy throat, cough, fever or other symptoms that could be COVID-19. If people dont come forward and get tested, we cant keep the pandemic at bay. We would like to see testing levels above 20,000 as achieved last week, particularly in South Western Sydney, and ahead of school holidays. For the sake of your friends and family, get a test. And if symptoms recur even a few days later, test again. Its free. While there were no locally acquired cases recorded in the past 24 hours, the virus is likely still circulating and it is imperative anyone displaying mild symptoms get tested immediately and not delay their test. NSW Health has been and continues to strongly encourage people to wear masks when unable to physically distance, particularly in indoor settings and on public transport, to keep everyone safe. As previously advised, when taking taxis or rideshare commuters should sit in the back and wear a mask. 04.01.2022 PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT NSW Health is directing anyone who attended Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral in Harris Park to immediately self-isolate for 14 days and come f...orward for testing even if they are not experiencing symptoms if they attended on: Wednesday 15 July 5.30pm Mass Thursday 16 July 6pm Mass Friday 17 July 1:30 pm Funeral & 6pm Mass Anyone who has attended the church since 15 July outside of these specific times should also closely monitor for symptoms and get tested if they begin to feel unwell, no matter how mild their symptoms are. The alert has been issued after a confirmed case linked to the Thai Rock restaurant cluster attended the church on the four occasions outlined prior to being diagnosed. Two additional cases, parishioners who also attended services on these days, have now also returned a positive result for COVID-19, both of whom are in isolation. NSW Health is working with the parish to contact worshippers who attended and signed the attendance sheet. The church has undergone cleaning but will remain closed as a precaution. Western Sydney Local Health District is setting up a pop-up clinic in the car park of Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral from tomorrow for the next four days at 9am - 4:30pm. Drive through clinics are also available in the area at Stocklands Merrylands and Homebush and walks in clinic are also available at Westmead, Westmead Childrens, Blacktown and Mount Druitt hospitals. NSW Health is reminding those wishing to attend church services to adhere to social distancing advice and practice good hand hygiene. Anyone who is feeling unwell should avoid public gatherings and workplaces, self-isolate and get tested immediately. NSW Health continues to advise against group singing and chanting in religious services, including choirs, given the high risk of transmission associated with these activities. This is particularly important at this time as NSW responds to a number of COVID outbreaks.

03.01.2022 NSW Health is calling on people in the Rouse Hill area to get tested if they have even the mildest COVID-19 symptoms after the state’s sewage surveillance progr...am detected traces of the virus in the area. The catchment takes sewage from approximately 120,000 people. Fragments of the virus that causes COVID-19 have been detected in samples taken on Thursday 5 November from the sewerage system that drains parts of Quakers Hill, Castle Hill, Annangrove, Kellyville, Box Hill, Kenthurst, Glenhaven, The Ponds, Rouse Hill, North Kellyville, Kellyville Ridge, Beaumont Hills, Stanhope Gardens, Baulkham Hills, Glenwood, Bella Vista, Parklea, Acacia Gardens and Norwest. The positive sewage result can be due to shedding of the virus by someone who may have previously had the illness, with the virus ‘shedding’ through their system for up to six to eight weeks later. NSW Health continues to remind the community to be vigilant for symptoms and come forward for testing. Symptoms like a runny nose or scratchy throat, cough, tiredness, fever or loss of taste or smell can all signal COVID-19. After COVID-19 testing, you must remain isolated until a negative result is received. Find your nearest COVID-19 testing clinic here: https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics There are more than 300 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. Sewage testing for molecular markers of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, started in July, adding another tool in the fight against the global pandemic. There is no evidence COVID-19 is transmitted via wastewater systems.

03.01.2022 NSW recorded nine locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, with an additional six cases in returned travellers in hotel quarantine.... Eight of the locally acquired cases are linked to the Avalon cluster. Investigations continue into the source of the Avalon cluster, which now numbers 116. The source of the other locally acquired case remains under investigation. This brings the total number of cases in NSW to 4,658 since the beginning of the pandemic. There were 39,133 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day’s total of 69,809. This is an amazing effort from the community, and we continue to urge people to come forward and get tested; even if you have the mildest of symptoms. Every person who comes forward for testing is playing an important role in helping to contain the spread of COVID-19. Testing clinics will remain open over the holiday period, including today and heading into New Year’s Day. We also want to thank those who are self-isolating, which we appreciate is difficult at this time. However, if you are a close contact of a case, you must continue to self-isolate for 14 days since exposure, even if you receive a negative test result.
