21.01.2022 We're answering questions about our Christmas tree season on Instagram right now: https://www.instagram.com/richmondchristmastreefarm/

20.01.2022 What an incredible couple of days at the farm! The most amazing story from the weekend was about a customer called Ben who came through the farm gate and paid for two 7ft trees. One for himself and one for a young family in the line after him, paying it forward. Later, a family of total strangers to Ben received a Christmas tree for free, and all of our hearts exploded with joy when we heard the story. Were incredibly grateful to so many people, our amazing hard-working farm helpers and the brilliant market stallholders who created a lovely atmosphere for the weekend. But most of all thank you to everyone who came out to choose a tree and share part of their Christmas season with us.

19.01.2022 Firstly, just a little reminder that we’re sold out of tickets and trees for 2020. Secondly, we have a few things in our farm shop to make your real Christmas tree experience easy (and beautiful): Christmas tree stands are wide and strong, and hold plenty of water. They are easy to set up to support your tree safely. Small $50 & large $70.... Burlap stand covers are back in stock after a very popular debut last year. They are springy so you can push them down easily to pour water into the stand. $45 Richmond Christmas Tree Farm enamel mugs are the coolest. $10 Those without tickets are very welcome to purchase these awesome things at out farm gate too. Only 9 sleeps until our first open day. We’re getting so excited to see you all!

19.01.2022 We have now sold out of Christmas trees via our new online ticketing process. If you missed out, were holding an auction this weekend, finishing on Sunday 24th at 4pm to raise funds for Christmas at Hobart Womens Shelter. You can win the chance to have early access to the farm and choose your perfect tree before we open the gates to ticket holders!

18.01.2022 Our welcome email to this weekend’s farm goers has just been sent. Check your inboxes/spam/promotion folders, and let us know if you didn’t get it. PS. This photos was from our very first open day in 2014. We had 26 tree-lovers visit us that year. And we were stoked! And we still see a few of them every year since. That’s a blast from the past. #richmondchristmastreefarm

13.01.2022 Hello everyone! Things are getting busy on the farm, so it's time to find some help :) Please let anyone who fits the below know, and they can get in contact with us at [email protected] with their CV, quick covering letter explaining how awesome they would be for the job, and phone number, and we can work it out from there. 13.01.2022 Farm open days + market continues today! Come along from 10am til 2pm. And just a reminder that we have pre-sold and sold out of Christmas trees now. But if you missed out on a ticket youre welcome to pop into the market today (1st Dec).

13.01.2022 SOLD OUT!! Crickey! We have just sold out of tickets (and trees!) in less than an hour and a half. We’re completely amazed! Thank you so much for all of your support. ... We’re so sorry to anyone who missed out this year... we’d love to have more trees for you! We’re working hard to grow more. Stick with us.

13.01.2022 If you follow our tree care instructions to the tee, youll have a happy tree! The top tip is to make sure you give your tree plenty of water throughout the season. And best use a purpose built stand, if not you can fill a bucket with rocks to support your tree, definitely not sand or dirt, your tree needs to be free to soak up lots of water. Screenshot these instructions, or hooray for you if you took a snap of our tree care poster at the farm gate this weekend. Were going paperless, so no more flyers. It was awesome to see lots of people getting on board.

12.01.2022 Show us your tree! Our adorable chubby little tree from the farm gate is now at home looking festive. Wed LOVE to see yours... either tag us or use #richmondchristmastreefarm on Instagram or post a photo in the comments here on Facebook! Weve seen lots of beauties already. Thanks for sharing them with us.

12.01.2022 Wowee! Only a couple of Sunday tickets left now! https://bit.ly/2Kc3hu7

11.01.2022 Its today! Our open days + market kick off at 10am, coffee will be flowing from 9am for keen beans. The weather is going to be cool-ish with a chance of a shower later on, so stay warm and dry and well see you at the farm! PS. Remember to BRING YOUR TICKET along this weekend. Its important to check the time on your actual ticket, because there was some confusion with recent emails sent out via Eventbrite. The first date/time you see on the reminder email is the time that the whole event starts. Not necessarily your ticket time. So click through to your ticket if youre unsure and youll get the right info there. PPS. Just a reminder that we have pre-sold and sold out of Christmas trees now. But if you missed out on a ticket youre welcome to pop into the market this weekend (30th Nov + 1st Dec).

11.01.2022 Guess how many sleep until our first open day? ONLY 4! We can’t wait. #richmondchristmastreefarm

11.01.2022 Were delighted to announce that the winner of our Facebook auction was Edward Maxwell, and his generous donation of $271 was passed on to Hobart Womens Shelter this afternoon. Were so lucky to be in a position to support this amazing organisation who are in the business of empowering women and children to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Follow this link to find these awesome people and to make a donation too. https://www.hobartws.org.au/ Thanks to everyone who p...articipated in our auction, it made for an exciting weekend! PS. We have pre-sold and sold out of Christmas trees now. But if you missed out on a ticket youre welcome to pop into the market this weekend (30th Nov + 1st Dec).

11.01.2022 Were open this weekend (and every weekend until Christmas) for taggers to collect their trees from 10am - 2pm, both days. You can take an elfie, or grab a Christmas tree stand, a farm mug, but unfortunately were all out of trees for the year. If you missed out, we recommend supporting either Variety the Childrens Charity TAS, Lenah Valley Fire Brigade or the Sandford Scouts who are selling at Harmony Garden Centre and Florist and Blackmans Bay Scouts. Theyre all sell...ing trees to raise funds over the Christmas period. PS. Beware of the wild reindeer out in the trees this weekend. He looks pretty dubious to me.

10.01.2022 Breaking news... last year’s ticket holders will get an early bird link to our tickets via email at 7.30pm tomorrow evening! Is that you?? Don’t forget to check your spam folders - we just sent previous ticket holders a tester email, hopefully you got it?! 09.01.2022 Here are a few great local organisations selling Christmas trees to raise money their various causes. Since we have SOLD OUT of Christmas trees at our farm, we recommend supporting one of these awesome organisations.

09.01.2022 Our first open day of 2020 was fantastic! We’re so grateful for how easily everyone got on board with the changes we made due to Covid-19. You guys are amazing! The bigger trees were really popular today, there are *some* 6-9 footers left. This year we have a new section of younger trees that are looking stunning, and are around 5 foot. (See second photo ) It always ebbs and flows with trying to grow enough trees in every size.... Really looking forward to next weekend!

07.01.2022 Less than 1 hour to go!! Bid bid bid!

07.01.2022 Hello bargain hunters! Trees with red stumps (as pictured) are half price. Woo! There are quite a few because these are the last bunch of trees that have never been irrigated. Theyve survived years of drought conditions, poor darlings. They are still lovely trees, if just a little wonky, but I think some of us can relate to that. We hope they find loving homes this weekend. PS. We have pre-sold and sold out of Christmas trees now. But if you missed out on a ticket youre welcome to pop into the market this weekend (30th Nov + 1st Dec).

06.01.2022 From ours to yours! We hope you have a top Christmas! Thank you so much for supporting our 6th season. Its been an amazing year with some changes that everyone seemed to enjoy. You guys are awesome! Same time, same place next year? See ya then!

06.01.2022 Christmas tree farming is not always about hugging trees at sunset. But sometimes it is. PS. Dont forget to BRING YOUR TICKET along this weekend. Nat is queen of lists, highlighters and instructions, and will send you merrily off into the farm to choose your tree. ... Janelle is master of coin, and expertly juggles our off-grid fickle-as eftpos system while answering questions about stands and care instructions and many other things, while remaining upbeat for hours on end. Shes a real life Christmas miracle. We hope you enjoy your time passing through our farm gate this weekend! PS. Farm open days + market continues today, 10am - 2pm. 06.01.2022 Its our last couple of collection days! Were open 10am-2pm both days this weekend for you to collect your tagged tree. The best thing to do if you missed out on a farm-grown tree from us this Christmas is to sign up to our mailing list on our website and follow us on Facebook to hear when our 2020 tickets will be released. Well let you know in early October. As for this year... weve heard whispers that some of the charities selling real trees in the Hobart area ha...ve sold out too, so its best to check back on the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service Facebook post from a few weeks ago which listed and linked all the local charities selling trees. If youre a lucky tree owner we hope youre enjoying it! And be sure to keep the water topped up in this warm weather.

03.01.2022 A wee Gold Finch nest. The eggs are about the size of a peanut M&M. So tiny! Our trees become habitat to lots of lovely wildlife and we put a yellow tag on any trees we find with nests, but its important that you check your tree when youre choosing one this weekend. Its nesting season right now, and wed love to leave the finches in peace with their new families. And if youre worried about spiders, particularly huntsmen coming inside with your tree (it ...has happened! ) you can hose your tree down in the drive way to rouse out any unwanted guests.
