The Club will be running a seperate Medley competition for any overflow that will occur from easing of these restrictions. A competition will be held on the East Course between 7am and 1pm. 15.01.2022 Morning Members & Guests, With all the justified noise around the uncertainty in the world at the moment. Golf remains with a little common sense and regard for everyones personal hygiene something we can continue to enjoy together outdoors. Taking a simple lesson to give you a simple focus to clear your mind and focus on the task at hand right in front of you is both a great pressure release for you physically and mentally very... beneficial. In many sports and life in general if you stay in the present and deal with what's at hand you will be far less stressed and have greater focus right at that time helping you make clear decisions. Back to the point of our simple coaching focus today is showing the benefits of how we can change human body movement with simple drills like the one demonstrated in the pictures below. You see in the first picture on the left our student has had a real power leak his club and arm are in a straight line prior to impact result in a ball flight that is hard to control turning his 7 iron into something resembling a 9 iron. Losing height at impact his head down and to the right. Yes head down the single worst bit of coaching advice someone can give you. In the second photo via a simple impact drill you can see the hands arms and body are now in a far more repeatable position at impact. The lower body has reacted to the better hand and arm position and is now in sync and presenting the club face in a much stronger position. The moral of this story is fixing one thing can have far reaching effects on the entire movement. So rather than try and work things out yourself see one of our professionals and help clear your mind and get some great direction on building a more repeatable golf swing today. 14.01.2022 Dear Members, Earlier today the Victorian Government announced a snap seven-day lockdown that comes into effect at 11.59pm tonight throughout the entire State of Victoria. From this time, Victorians are only permitted to leave their home to obtain essential goods, for work, medical, care or exercise purposes or to get vaccinated. Victorians are not permitted to travel more than 5 km’s from their home. Given the lockdown that comes into effect in Victoria at 11.59pm tonight..., Victorians will not be permitted to attend the Club for sport, hospitality, gaming or entertainment purposes for the duration of the lockdown (which has been announced for 7 days). Members that are impacted by this will naturally be disappointed which is understandable. However, in times such as these where our community faces the threat of a pandemic, we expect all of our members to be responsible and to abide by the rules. Our Community also rightly expects that Rich River Golf Club will be responsible and will uphold the rules that have been put in place for everyone’s health by the authorities. The Pro Shop will be monitoring timesheets and checking for any Victorian residing members that are booked into play golf and enforcing the Clubs policy during the lockdown. Similarly staff at the entrance to the Club will also be conducting address checks and enforcing the Club’s policy ie refusing entry. The Golf Course, sporting facilities and club facility will continue to remain open during this time to all non-Victorian residents. Let’s hope that this lockdown in Victoria is only for 7 days and that all members of the Club will soon be able to travel to the Club and enjoy our great facilities.
