04.01.2022 We embarked on this project 3 years ago at Austin Rise Bed and Breakfast in the heart of Heidelberg. The deck area is located amongst a beautiful garden at the rear of the property and is an inviting space for Beverley's guests to enjoy To restore this heavily pigmented and soiled deck we sanded all surfaces to a smooth finish, washed-out residual tannins, neutralised them and applied 3 coats of our penetrating water bourne sealer. The area is faces west; after 3 years... there was no break down of the coating, no peeling or discolouration. . At the end of last year, we simply washed and recoated the deck area with our natural finish penetrating sealer - job done for another year, or 2, or 3. So, by focusing on the preparation at the restoration stage you will minimise ongoing maintenance costs, preserve your investment and maintain the natural appearance & look of your timber surfaces.
