25.01.2022 I work out of Drovers Medical Centre 9306 2255 (corner of Wanneroo Road and Joondalup Drive) Tuesdays, Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays, and Saturday mornings. I work at Masters & Co. Psychology in Madeley on Wednesday mornings, Fridays, and Saturday afternoons. Ring those businesses to book in.

25.01.2022 Had a lot of clients recently talk about emotional distancing from their partner. Don't ignore the problem and let it go too far. This article has some ideas. https://bit.ly/3d4eLLG

24.01.2022 I had someone recommend this podcast episode on procrastination and Ive found it very interesting. Its more about the psychology of procrastination but they do mention what works and what doesnt work to help us get past it. https://www.alieward.com/ologies/procrastination

24.01.2022 While this is good advice I'd suggest rather than negative feelings think of them as uncomfortable feelings. Feelings - both comfortable and uncomfortable - convey information to ourselves and others.

24.01.2022 Thinking about doing an online therapy course? One recognised by AHPRA in Australia? The Centre of Excellence in the UK is offering their online courses for 29 (about $56) instead of 140+ (over $300). Worth a look.

23.01.2022 Only with your donations can we make a difference to families experiencing family and domestic violence who are in our refuges. We are in urgent need of: - deo...dorant - shampoo and conditioner - for adults and children - nappies, sizes 10kg+ - new underwear - for women and children in all sizes Your donations will make the world of difference to these families and enable us to support all of their needs. Having to leave your home due to family and domestic violence is a difficult decision to make, and most have to leave everything behind to seek safety at a refuge. So next time you are grocery shopping why not purchase a few items from our list and drop them at our new Merriwa Hub. Where: Merriwa Hub - 21 Lansdowne Place, Merriwa Drop off times: Thursday 27th August between 10am & 4pm and Friday 28th between 10am & 4pm Ring the bell and one of our team will come to meet you (please don't leave donations outside). We thank you for supporting us. See more

22.01.2022 Joy not really understanding why she can't come to work with me like she usually does :(

22.01.2022 As Ive said before, Id guesstimate fully 20% of my clients are seeing me because of a personality disordered person in their lives - a boss, a parent, a partner. This YouTube series has been recommended to me for clients, but I havent viewed it myself. Feel free to check it out and give feedback about what you think. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIELB1mz8wMKIhB6DCmTBlw

21.01.2022 Telehealth is available so if you dont feel comfortable coming in for a face to face chat we can have a session over the internet or by phone. Drovers Medical Centre and Masters & Co Psychology and Wellness both are using the Zoom program for connecting via video link. Just let reception know if you want face to face, telephone, or video session You can download Zoom for free here https://zoom.us/

20.01.2022 Some tech talk but overall a good article about anxiety and fear.

20.01.2022 Clients often ask me about dreams. Heres the results of a study about what people dream about. https://bit.ly/2UUAqQL

20.01.2022 Other things to try include mindful meditation, journalling before bed, having a warm bath or shower 20-30 mins before going to bed.

20.01.2022 When I was working at a prison after about two years I was feeling I was heading for burnout. I sought advice through supervision and the suggestion was to lower empathy, but still have care and compassion. It worked. https://www.psychologytoday.com//turn-empathy-compassion-w

11.01.2022 Sadly Joy will not be accompanying me at work while COVID19 is an issue. People love to pat her, naturally, and while she herself cannot pass on COVID19, a person with the virus could put the virus on her fur to be picked up by the next person who pats her. She will return in the future.

02.01.2022 Hi all. I have moved from Masters Psychology (10/10 would work there again) to Clear Health Psychology in Alkimos. It's much, much closer to home. I'm there on Fridays and Saturdays, and remain at Drovers Medical Centre Tuesday to Thursday. Even though Joy isn't quite ready to come back to work I brought her in today so she can get familiar will the great staff here and her room (pic in comments)
