25.01.2022 We have recently completed this beautiful home for Ian & Jane. Jane drew her inspiration of the design, both interior & exterior, from her other favourite place, Hawaii. The house is an idea of the island by the use of green/blue in the laundry & powder room, and the custom timber vanities in the powder room, bathroom and ensuite. The use of dark brown and black is a contrast, with black vanity basins, brown brick tiled kitchen splashback and slate on the entry columns. The ...features of this home include a large galley style kitchen, open dining/family area, a separate lounge, 3 bedrooms including a large master suite (each bedroom with it's own walk in robe), quality fixtures & fittings, timber with glass internal doors, and a large alfresco area for entertaining. For a point of difference all the windows have quality timber plantation shutters, the alfresco ceiling is lined with woven bamboo, and an eye catching custom built "Turtle" timber entry door (designed by Jane). We enjoyed watching Jane's vision for her new home become a reality during the build. Jamie & Courtenay approached us at the 11th hour before they were to sign with a project builder, seeking an alternative for the build of their new home. 22.01.2022 It has been a busy couple of weeks for us.... Firstly we were very proud to win an award at the Master Builders Awards taking out "House of the Year", in it's category for Hummock View, and then completed and handed over 2 houses to our excited clients. "Waters Edge" is a stunning light filled home designed and decorated by the owners Matti & Sher. Their past experience and wealth of knowledge within the Building and Interior Design business is evident in every aspect of thi...s spacious modern home. The 339 square metre home boasts an expansive Family/Dining/Kitchen area along with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. To add to the ample storage of endless drawers and cabinets in the kitchen, the owners also included a spacious Butlers Pantry off to the side making this the perfect entertainer's kitchen. Both areas stream with natural light with the inclusion of feature windows above the Trendstone "White Pearl" bench tops which seem to flow together as one long kitchen bench. The impact of monochromatic tones are high with the use of classic floor to ceiling white tiles combined with dark timber finished cabinetry in all 3 bathrooms. This combined with walk in showers and separate WCs make for a very luxurious feel. The same monochromatic tones are extended to the exterior with the use of dark brick, Matrix Cladding and the clean crisp white panel lift door. However, for high impact, a design statement has been added in the form of the bright red front door. Stunning! 20.01.2022 Our last build for the year, we are now looking forward to a well needed break over the festive season. This new home is a dream of a sea change for Leanne and has been 2 years in the planning. It all became a reality when we managed to deliver within 3 months, well ahead of time. The design of the home is to allow for dual living with lockable doors to divide the space into 2 areas. The vinyl timber floors and the timber feature doors in the kitchen are perfect for beach l...iving. The exterior features of this home are light brick veneer with contrasting "Monument" roof, fascia, gutter and panel lift door, and 2 separate outdoor alfresco areas with high raked ceilings in theme of the dual living. The interior, again has high raked ceilings in the open living space, large kitchen, 3 bedrooms and a separate lounge room. Leanne is ecstatic with her choice of colours, tiles and fittings and she likens the bathroom tiles to "CSI". Our trades have once again excelled in their workmanship and time management, producing another quality home that we are proud of. A big thank you to Leanne for being super organised, especially as Gaye was overseas for a month during the build, it was a pleasure working with her.

20.01.2022 We are very proud to announce we have won the award for Individual Home $351,000 - $450,000 for the Wide Bay Burnett area. It has been quite a few years since we have entered a home but we felt this was the perfect house to showcase amongst our peers. Some of the outstanding interior features include the beautifully finished polished concrete floors, the high cathedral ceilings and the large open elevated windows which capture the flood of light throughout the open plan livi...ng area. With custom built cabinetry throughout, the Kitchen and Pantry boast a seamless look by not including any hardware. Both areas have ample storage and are finished with 20mm Trendstone benchtops, bespoke timber shelves and an extra sink hidden away for functionality. The Main Bathroom, a little unusual, includes 2 x toilets, 2 x shower rooms and a large 3 basin vanity with an extensive mirror. This was a must for the family to accommodate 3 teenage children to alleviate the congestion of bathroom time. Simply finished, with a long timber bench, timber shower seats, white subway wall tiles and decorative floor tiles, all of which compliment the essence of this room. We went for a Sunday drive, from Booral to Burrum Heads and back: to install our sign for a new build about to start, look at a block for a prospective build, cruise past the block where the frames are going up,... checked out the tiling & cabinetry in the house that is at fixing stage. We are still operational as the Building & Construction industry are an essential service, and we are all (including our trades) abiding by all safe hygiene and social distancing practices.

08.01.2022 We want to show our love and support for our families and friends in the wake of the lastest shut down measures, particularly small businesses and employees of the hospitality, travel, tourism and entertainment industries. There will be tough times ahead for you and we will try and support you as much as we can and ask our followers to do the same. To our families and friends, especially our girls, working in retail and particularly pharmacy, please adhere to all recommended... safety measures whether it be wearing masks, gloves, sanitizing and keeping your hands away from your face. We are continuing to work, as at this stage the building and construction industry is not impacted by the closures as we are still considered an "essential service", however we must follow the social distancing rules on all our sites and in our office. We do foresee that it will be increasingly difficult to obtain supplies but we will continue to work and find solutions as problems arise. 08.01.2022 Leading up to Christmas we were busy catching up on those jobs for friends & family that we dont seem to have time for during the year. The most important one being the extension to Gayes parents deck at Toogoom. After 2 years Garry & Kay got their 3 x 7.6 metre deck extension in time for this Christmas Day, to seat their 24 family members easily. To also protect from the elements Garry & Kay opted for vertical aluminum louvres on the western wall and clear PVC pull ...down awnings throughout, which created an indoor/outdoor space when they were closed. We all got to enjoy the new space over the break & now wonder how we survived with out it. Check out the before & after photos for ideas of your own.

07.01.2022 This perfect first home for Ashley was completed yesterday, over a month ahead of time and under budget. With an area of 219 square metres, this lovely brick veneer home has everything Ashley needs, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an open living space and a study nook. She opted for a simple laundry to allow for a more spacious living area. Ashley was smart with her selections knowing she had a budget, while saving money on some prime cost items she was then able to direct that s...aving to another area of her build. So while choosing quality laminated bench tops she was able to opt for more expensive plumbing fittings to compliment the overall feel of her home, and include turf in readiness for move in day. Building a new home is daunting for anyone let alone a first timer, we are happy to say the process was stress free and enjoyable for Ashley. We monitored every step of the building cycle to ensure her home was completed on time and importantly, under budget. Gaye was a great support throughout the build, assisting with selections and keeping Ashley informed every step of the way. Again we thank our wonderful trades and suppliers for their excellent service and workmanship to produce the quality we expect for Ricky Cullen Construction's homes.

06.01.2022 Another quality new build completed a month under time for Graham & Helen who have recently moved here from the Sunshine Coast. Their home is brick veneer with a Colorbond roof featuring a Timbagrain panel lift door and a recycled timber entry door. A generous size home with 4 bedrooms, media room, open family, dining and kitchen area, with stacker doors opening out to a large alfresco and stratco patio all perfect for having the family visit and entertaining with friends. ...Graham & Helen chose to lay 330mm wide Kardean long boards throughout, including the bedrooms and media room for practical beach living. Their kitchen includes galley style floor cabinets with Ceasarstone benchtops, glass door entering the walk in pantry and a floor to ceiling appliance cupboard. They also chose modern Ceasarstone benchtops in the bathrooms, powder room and laundry. "We are in our new home and enjoying it immensely. 02.01.2022 A couple of weeks have passed since Ben, Christie and their gorgeous boy Carter moved into their brand new home. They chose us to build their dream home after we were highly recommended by friends of theirs who we built for a couple of years ago. Word of mouth and recommendations are our greatest source of business and we thank our past clients for paying it forward! This first home for Ben and Christie, being 239 square metres, has been designed specifically to meet the nee...ds of their young family. The home boasts 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open plan living that opens out onto an alfresco outdoor living area, and kitchen which includes a walk in pantry. A European style laundry is tucked away in the garage giving extra space in the house. The choice of interior colours of just black and white was carefully considered and has added a dramatic effect throughout. Ben and Christie have decided to add colour by way of furniture and soft furnishings making this home classic and timeless. They continued this classic look out to the exterior with the addition of dark BGC Nuline Cladding to the façade, contrasting against the PGH Wintergold brick, giving their home a point of difference on the street. The heart of the home has always been the kitchen and living areas, and this home does not disappoint!
