24.01.2022 In Australia, Lions combined a hobby with service. The Australian chapter of the LCI Stamp Club sold more than 882 pounds of stamps at auction, raising US$38,333 to help children with cerebral palsy walk. https://bit.ly/2ZxyaRi #WeServe

We really appreciate your willingness to give back to the community by supporting our Foodbank and others. THANK YOU! Just drop them in the containers at Foodworks and Coles, or Liberty Health and Happiness in Gisborne or at the Macedon Newsagency & Post Office. 09.01.2022 Sometimes we Lions think that what we do is not appreciated this story may change your mind two members from the Pambula-Merimbula Lions help out a fire affecte...d resident Well Done Rick and Peter. Today Peter & I had a great day and felt really good after we chatted for quite a while to Stefan over a cuppa he had made for us. That was after we had unloaded all the tools & assembled the SS workbench. Stefan was very excited about all the gear & most appreciative for what had been donated to him. He was like a child unwrapping presents at Christmas. We found his little patch no worries, deep in the bush, his lovely home that he had built on the hilltop was just a skeleton, everything charred. Stefan was a Myotherapist and originated from Germany. He was an MD and had a library of medical books, naturally all destroyed. He told us quite a bit about himself, he has had a very interesting life. Stefan is now 70, but very active. I think the task of re building is still a bit daunting to him, however he seemed to still have a very positive and determined attitude and very grateful for what people have done for him. He gave us a stubbie each of James Squire Four Wives Pilsner in appreciation. No doubt I will visit him again some time. It was a pleasure helping such a nice man. We hope you like the pics. # 1 & 2 In keeping with social distancing, measured out our 1.5m separation !!!! # 3 Val would agree, probably Peters best angle. I could hear him saying some Hail Marys. # 4 & 5 Job completed and Stefan very grateful. You will notice in the background the remnants of Stefans home. His new timber posted shelter is made of Stringy Bark from his own property which has been cut & stripped clean of burnt bark.

09.01.2022 Great morning to see all our locals again and visitors to the area. Our super hamper of goodies supplied by Riddells Creek Foodwooks.

02.01.2022 Further to Riddells Creek Landcare article in the Riddell Roundup, I personally have made some inquiries with Melbourne Waterways - and whether there is some opportunites and scope for the Blitz program. I have also emailed our MRSC Parks Team and Management on some support in making this area more uplifting. Possible hanging garden, upgraded fence with art features, painted mural from one of our many talented artists, (geese/native/animal aspects) suitable indigineous n...ative plant selection to nestle through the Murnong Creek that flows through our township. Whilst we try to deter kids from running through the drain area, it is fun running or rolling down the slopes, even I did as a kid and I am sure many of you did too ! We may need to evolve a Friends of group to assist in planning, ideas and planting so stay tuned and I will call for help soon. Narelle See more

02.01.2022 Out with the old in with the new. Great to see our lovely locals enjoying the Lions Park today before restrictions change. Mask up and enjoy the sunshine

02.01.2022 Its a tough year and were here for our community. Our Spring 2020 community investment round opens September 1. Details next week.

02.01.2022 A SNOWY SATURDAY With snow forecast in a few parts of our response area including Mount Macedon and East Trentham from this Friday evening through t...o Saturday morning, this is your early reminder to take extra care on local roads which may be wet, icy and slippery and to be on the lookout for tree hazards. If you haven’t already, please familiarize yourself with VicRoads’ very useful winter driving guide - a great one especially to share with any new drivers you might have in your household: www.vicroads.vic.gov.au//driver-sa/snow-and-winter-driving. Unfortunately it’s quite possible that forecast rain and snow will further saturate already extremely wet ground which may in turn bring down more trees - so, please call the Victoria State Emergency Service 132 500 to report any you encounter that pose a danger. Finally, with several local roads and both the Macedon Regional Park and Wombat Forest still closed due to hazardous trees and storm damage, please don’t venture out where you shouldn’t be - while skilled in search and rescue, our volunteers (and we’d imagine our friends at SES Gisborne Unit too) would much rather be safe and warm at home with their families than venturing out in harm’s way unless it’s entirely necessary. Take care, stay safe and happy Monday all. Bureau of Meteorology MetEye tool.
