17.01.2022 Corona Virus (COVID-19) Update - 16 March 2020 Apologies for the long post, but we can assure you future posts will be much shorter! Riddells Creek Neighbourho...od House is committed to passing on current and relevant information to our local community. The below information and all future updates are guided by directions of the Department of Health and Human Services and Neighbourhood Houses Victoria. As of today, the Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House will be open but with restrictions in place. We have decided that all indoor group activities at the House will be cancelled until further notice. Our office hours are being restricted to 10am to 2pm, Monday to Friday. We will be keeping a list of people who may need extra assistance. If you know anyone who could be more vulnerable in our community, it would be great if you can pass their details on and/or encourage them to reach out to us. We will manage personal details with the utmost of care and not disclose these details to any other organisation. We will contact people referred to us to identify what type of assistance they may require and respond appropriately. This may mean, for example, that we organise a volunteer to help purchase and deliver food. People who tend to be more at risk include the elderly, people who are already sick and people with low immune systems (immunocompromised). However, it can also include people who are scared to go out shopping and those who do not have family support. We will reach out to our volunteers to see what assistance they can offer subject to availability. If you are healthy and not in contact with people who are vulnerable and would like to volunteer, please let us know. Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House is happy to be a drop off point for donations of essential items and non-perishable foods to assist our community. We will be working in partnership with organisations such as Gisborne Foodbank to ensure people in need are supported. Outside of business hours, please leave your donations on the front porch. Please ring us on 5428 7836 or email us at [email protected]. If we are unable to speak to you straight away, we will contact you as soon as possible. We are aware that many of our community members are feeling anxious at this time. If you need support and someone to talk to urgently please contact Lifeline 13 11 14 or Kids Helpline 1800 551 800. You can also talk to someone at Beyond Blue 1300 22 4636. Young people can contact Headspace on 1800 650 890. Please keep in touch with your GP and ask them questions about symptoms and next steps. We aim to provide daily updates so please check our Facebook page regularly and share this information with those you know who do not use social media. Each stall holder is asked to donate one item that will be utilised in the Community Festival Raffle in lieu of stall cost.
