25.01.2022 Ride & Stride in Northern USA ! On Sept. 30, 2020 my wife Nancy and I hiked a portion of the Beartooth Highway, on the Montana/Wyoming state border, USA. The highway (212) was temporarily closed to vehicles due to a recent snowfall. Highway 212 is considered one of the most beautiful drives in the USA, and begins near our home in Red Lodge, in south central Montana and rises from approximately 5,200 ft (1,600 m) to the Beartooth Pass at 10,947 ft (3,337 m) in 12 mi (19 km). On our hike, Nancy and I hiked a total of 5.2 miles to near the pass with an elevation gain of 541 feet to 10,880 feet (3290 m). 20.01.2022 Some photos from the Black Sock Striders team walk and run along Marine Parade in Cottesloe last Saturday (24/10/2020) morning at 6:15am. We walked (5km) from the car park in front of the Shorehouse Swanbourne to Pearse Street in Cottesloe return. The runners did a slightly different course and ran 10km. The photo of the lamb with 4 black legs/socks was our team inspiration Congratulations and big thanks to you all for a magnificent effort raising a wonderful total of $735.40

11.01.2022 RIDE & STRIDE FOR SARCOMA! IS BACK ! Due to COVID-19, this years event will be Virtual to start with. Registration will be up as from 1st July in the hope you will participate some time between then and October 31st. The plan will be to: enter, donate if you can, do the Ride or the Stride [hopefully in a group with as much awareness raising as you can do] and then post your photos on the Ride & Stride Facebook page. More details closer to the July 1st start date. There could be a gathering to celebrate the event on October 31st, if Covid permits.

10.01.2022 Register for 2020 Virtual Ride & Stride for Sarcoma!: Hit this link to register for the 2020 Sock it to Sarcoma! Virtual Ride & Stride for Sarcoma!. https://www.rideandstrideforsarcoma.org.au/register/... This years event is Virtual due to the pandemic. That means you and [hopefully] a group of others can complete a 50k or 100k bike ride or a 5km or 10k walk at your convenience to raise funds and awareness for Sarcoma. For those who dont know, Sarcoma is an unpleasant rare primary cancer of the bones and soft tissues. On registration, as usual a fundraising page will be set up for you automatically to help you to fundraise, should you choose to do so. The hope is you will do your bit to help us raise awareness by wearing a Sock it to Sarcoma! bike shirt or tee shirt or at least something colourful in the Sock it to Sarcoma! colours, teal and fuchsia. Once youve done your event, please post your GPS trace [if you have one] and your photos/report on the Ride & Stride for Sarcoma! Facebook page.
