10.01.2022 http:// 2020 SPIRIT OF THE RIDE - WINNER // Xaviar Ullrich Team Budget Car & Truck Rental Xaviars commitment to the cause has been unwavering throughout this experience.His training attendance was excellent and any missed sessions were supplemented with watt bike training. He was also one of the riders who smashed their fundraising goal of $5,000 very early on and continues to fundraise. To date, Xaviar has raised over $25,000 for Youth Focus a phenomenal achievement.... Even though he didnt get to complete his first Ride Week, Xavier took the initiative to complete the 500+ kilometres that he would have covered during the week of his own accord. Xavier also planned to present at a school on the Central peloton during Ride Week, to share his own very personal story about overcoming adversity. He is a strong believer in the power of honesty and discussion two elements that were key to his recovery. Xaviars journey has inspired him to study counselling at Notre Dame University and he is looking forward to supporting other people through similar struggles. Congratulations Xaviar. Jurien Bay showcase their fabulous community spirit by coming together to feed and accommodate the central peloton. On Monday upon arrival to Jurien Bay Tourist Park, WA, our riders and support crew are treated to an afternoon tea by the Jurien Bay Lions. A big thank you to Jurien Bay Camera Club for capturing our riders along the picturesque Turquoise Coast trail. In the evening our peloton is officially welcomed by Jurien Bay and the Shire of Dandaragan at a launch event at the Jurien Bay Visitors Centre, and then off to a sumptuous dinner at the Murray St. Grill. The next morning our riders start their day super early and take a pre-packed morning tea and lunch, prepared by Family Affair Cafe Jurien Bay. Christina has held the role of Deputy Chair since October 2019. She completed the Ride in 2016 and 2019 and has participated in the CEO Challenge in 2017 and 2018 as an avid cycling enthusiast. Christina is a passionate mental health advocate and will be an invaluable asset to the Organising Committee. We would like to acknowledge ...the contribution of outgoing Chair Phil Phiery Renshaw, who has held the position since 2017.
