24.01.2022 When Victoria opens up again, we'd love to see you stretching your legs with a long ride along the beautiful High Country Rail Trail. Here are some highlights from Spring last year, as we enjoyed an end-to-end ride along this historic old rail trail, over old railway trestle bridges and alongside Lake Hume, covering 80 kms from Shelley to Wodonga... #RideHighCountry

23.01.2022 Another classic High Country summer's day, perfect for riding the Murray To Mountains Rail Trail from Myrtleford to Bright. Now, we're counting down the days to our favourite season for stunningly colourful rides along this brilliant trail. 19.01.2022 Yep, the wait is over... mountain biking is back at Mt Buller! Excitement is peaking as Bike Buller mtb park trails are opening up again. All trails should be open from 5 December and Blue Dirt Mountain Biking shuttles will resume in early December too. Most trails are already open, except for the gravity/downhill trails, which are currently undergoing final trail clearing and refurbishment.... Check the weekly Bike Buller Trail Report for the latest info and conditions: https://www.mtbuller.com.au//activit/bike/trail-report-map

17.01.2022 One of the joys of riding in Victoria's High Country is the fact that there are endless wide open spaces and long country roads to explore, but you're never far away from excellent post-ride refreshment. A fine example of this is the combination winery/brewery of Taminick Cellars & Black Dog Brewery near Glenrowan. Roll in to enjoy wine or beer and chat with multitalented winemaker/brewer, and keen mountain biker, James Booth, who is always keen to share his tips for cycling in the High Country. **Please note: While this brewery/cellar door is currently closed and these types of scenes are off-limits for the moment, we hope you'll keep this destination in mind for when we hit the new-normal and travel is allowed again. Happier summer days aren't too far away!**

17.01.2022 Can you see it? A beautiful summer is on the horizon! Who's keen to wind down long summer days with evening rolls along the Rail Trail in Beechworth? Photo credit: IG/@korinne_arblaster #ridehighcountry

13.01.2022 Plenty of High Country locals are helping to keep the MTB trails of North East Victoria in mint condition for you. And if you're from regional Victoria, you can also come and help keep our trails well ridden too... it's a bit quieter here than normal. Photo credit: IG/@manofsteel_mtb

12.01.2022 Love riding Rail Trails and in need of a new puzzle challenge? The team behind RailTrails Australia have created a puzzle from this shot, featuring one of the beautiful old trestle bridges along the High Country Rail Trail! You can select either a 500 or 1000 piece puzzle, which can be snapped up at: https://bit.ly/RTAJigsaw

12.01.2022 The man behind the lens for many of Ride High Country's stunning shots is in the running for a very cool MTB award. Show Matt Rousu Photography some love for the way he has helped showcase cycling in Victoria's High Country with a big tick on his entries in the Australian Mountain Bike Magazine Photography Awards...

12.01.2022 When some people think about Beechworth, they think of Ned Kelly and gold rush history. When we think about Beechworth, we think... techy granite heaven! Send it! #ridehighcountry https://www.ridehighcountry.com.au//beechworth-mountain-b/ Photo credit: IG/@happytegs

10.01.2022 You might have to save your plans to experience this ride until September next year, but it's a stunning time to roll out on the 88 kms long Lake Rowan Ride from Wangaratta, as the canola fields around Enjoy Benalla reach peak yellow. https://www.ridehighcountry.com.au/listing/lake-rowan-ride/

10.01.2022 Carcass Canyon in the Yackandandah MTB Park (aka "Yack Tracks") is a fun way to test your mountain bike skills in Victoria's High Country. Dropping below ground level, the canyon takes full advantage of 160 year old gold mining remnants and leads you through a maze of shoots and sunken mining races, not to mention the tricky corners and drops. Check it out: https://www.ridehighcountry.com.au/mounta/yackandandah-mtb/

09.01.2022 With movements limited at the moment, let's look back to look forward... and revisit last winter's big ride by Coco Louise Henry and friends, exploring the quiet roads of the Upper Murray and down to Dartmouth Dam. Here are Coco's recommended routes: "Heading towards Dartmouth Dam opens up a world of kilometre-banking opportunities on underused roads. Start by taking the High Country Rail Trail towards Old Tallangatta, before heading right onto Yabba Rd, one of the old country roads that have been replaced by main roads. Then there are hundreds of kilometres of wide open roads to explore, from the 160km return trip that follows the Mitta River - from Lake Hume to Dartmouth Dam and back - to the 60km round trip to Tallandoon. A ride to Mitta Mitta should also be on the agenda if only to take a photo with the dinosaur sign."

09.01.2022 It's tough to find something appropriate to say in these challenging times, especially for all our Melbourne friends... we just hope that it's not long before you can come and enjoy a long and relaxed ride on the Murray To Mountains Rail Trail again: https://www.ridehighcountry.com.au/rai/murray-to-mountains/ Photo credit: IG/@stayfitfeelyounger

08.01.2022 Where can you achieve the highest form of gravel grinding in Australia? ...here, in Victoria's High Country! Head to Falls Creek Resort with your gravel bike and explore the high plains up to Mount McKay. Climbing to 1842 metres above sea level, here you will enjoy some of the best vistas on a bike from anywhere in this beautiful country: https://www.ridehighcountry.com.au/list/mount-mckay-summit/
