25.01.2022 After a few requests, I’ve finally put together a Race kit to suit the Ducati 848/1098/1198. This kit will eliminate the Ignition barrel, key and come with a small module to communicate the transponder information back to the Dash unit. The kit takes about 20 mins to fit, depending on if you are still running road fairings or race fairings. It comes with everything required. However, we still need one of your existing keys or dash unit to program the transponder module. Th...e main benefits of the kit are as follows. 1. Remove the Ignition barrel and key, saving weight 350gr. More weight loss if you replace the fuel cap to a race alloy unit as well! 2. One switch operates the Power and Kill switch function. 3. No more forgetting to bring your key to the race track No more Keys! 4. More room to fit lap timers and aftermarket steering dampers 5. The kit is designed to be plug and play, meaning it can be reverted back to stock if required. No cutting wires, mucking around with trying to tape a key in an antenna, only to have it break off in a crash or vibrate loose. 6. No Immo fault codes or starting issues. All that is required is a few tools. On some bikes, the fuel tank may need to be moved backwards or removed completely, to gain access to the ignition barrel and to remove it. Instructions will be enclosed with a step by step guide. Harness plugs into the OEM connectors between the Ignition loom and RH switchgear. The transponder module is plugged into the Antenna connector and held in place with velcro in front of the airbox. The harness still maintains power to the rear park light circuit, this fused power feed is for some bikes running aftermarket fuel controllers or quickshifters, that use the rear sub loom to gain ignition power. If you don’t require power, you can simple opted not to fit the fuse. Alloy spaces are supplied to maintain the height of the barrel location bolts. These bolts still hold onto the ignition barrel rubber surround. After you have removed the factory antenna from this surround, you can fit the supply blanking cap and then fit it to you bike. Others may opt to leave this out and use the area to locate a Lap timer. If you have purchased a Ducati 848/1098/1198 bike and have no keys (Being a non-repairable write off or keys lost at Auction), then all you need to do is send us the dash and we can read the transponder information and program the transponder module in the kit. This will be an additional fee POA. Price for the kit is $159 inc gst. Free Aust Post (normal delivery), can arrange express post. We have limited stock with some already sold. Don’t forget we require one of your original keys or dash I will be looking into other Ducati models soon. 22.01.2022 I needed to revise the lighting above the Soldering and ESD station. The lamp I had was big and heavy and always felt like a large brick was in my signs. The option was always going to be LED, Strip form on alloy frame to assist with heat. And to do it a cheap as possible, as I wanted to see if the lighting was better, before commiting to something in the future. Once the Alloy Housing was made, the rest was just a matter of wiring up. I got a nice LED 1.25A 12v power supp...ly and switchgear. The result was better than I thought, given it is only running 36 5050 SMD LED's on a Flexible strip.15 Watts in total and I can maneuver the LED bar in any position and fold it away when not required. Last picture was taken with no other lights, to see the flood of light it has.

22.01.2022 Been a while in between posts, Sorry, but have been caught up on a project the last 3 months that has requested all of my time. But I wanted to share one of my favorite channels on YouTube. Mehdi Sadaghdar has a flare for comical display, but deep down he is quite smart and you could learn a lot about AC supply and EMC emissions from him. He is an electronics engineer. Born in Iran he has a BA in science and a master of applied electrical science in Canada. You can watch him... for the laughs or take a serious approach and learn from a true genius, that risks his life to show all the wonders of AC. https://www.youtube.com/user/msadaghd/featured

09.01.2022 Got a new Rigol DMM for the workshop. So this adds to the collection of already owned Rigol gear, including a duel channel 100hz scope, not shown. Function generator and power supply unit. 5 1/2 digit at an impressive resolution with PC support and auto sensor function. Could have gone the next model up, but thats 70% more $$$. Not much change out of $1000 with this model. ... #rigol

08.01.2022 I spend a few years on motorcycle engine powered car setups, but this example takes the cake. Great car control and balance, given its most likely short wheel based and light weight. Over powered Go kart with Aero would be a good way to look at it. Turn up the volume. Let's take some guesses on what engine it is. The dash might give it away!
