07.01.2022 PANDEMIC PAYMENT: The Federal Government will establish a pandemic leave disaster payment for people who have no more sick leave left. The Prime Minister says t...he $1,500 payment is principally available for people on short-term visas who don't have access to Commonwealth payments, and it will only be available to Victorians -- for now. "If another state were to be in a position - and God forbid they were - that there was a disaster of the scale that we're seeing in Victoria, then a disaster payment of this nature would be entered into," Prime Minister Scott Morrison said.

06.01.2022 JOBKEEPER CHANGES: The scheme designed to keep Australians in work through the economic downturn caused by coronavirus will be in place until March 2021, howeve...r, a new tiered system will be introduced. From October this year: - Full-time worker payments will be reduced to $1200 a fortnight -- down from $1500 per fortnight. - People working less than 20 hours a week will receive $750 a fortnight -- down from $1500 per fortnight. Then from January until March 2021: - Full-time worker payments will drop to $1000 per fortnight - People working less than 20 hours a week will drop to $650.
