25.01.2022 We have had to make the difficult decision to close Ride the Koalas once again due to the spike in COVID-19 community transmission cases in Victoria, effective Tuesday July 7th. Thank you to all the wonderful customers who have ridden the koala bikes this past school holiday week. Stay safe and please practise your social distancing so we can all get through this challenging period. We will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so. #raymondislandkoalas #visitgippsland #visitpaynesville #koalatrailraymondisland
25.01.2022 Sunday May 3rd is National Wild Koala Day! ‘Koalas of Raymond Island’ (KORI) is a new volunteer group including registered wildlife carers dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned koalas. KORI has registered as a new Wildlife Shelter on Raymond Island and are working on building new enclosures and pre-release pens for koalas in care. Please have a look and like their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Koalas-of-Raymond-Island-1092521...94021944/ They have launched a new fundraiser to help pay for building enclosures, an assessment and treatment area, pay vet bills and buy rescue equipment, medical supplies and everything needed to look after our furry friends in care. Thank you to those who supported the previous fund-raising campaign which helped to build the first enclosure. If you want to support this important local cause, your donation will go directly towards koala rescue, care and rehabilitation on Raymond Island by Raymond Islanders. You can make your donation at this link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/gofundmecomCare-for-Koalas-of-Ra Please support ‘Koalas of Raymond Island’. Happy Wild Koala Day! See more

We are sorry for any inconvenience to visitors but feel responsible for customer and community safety. The Koala Trail can still be enjoyed on foot but remember to keep a safe distance between walking groups. Ride the Koalas will reopen as soon as it is safe and practical to do so. #visitpaynesville #visiteastgippsland #destinationgippsland

01.01.2022 Next Sunday May 3rd is National Wild Koala Day. Organisers are calling for everyone to pin a gum leaf on their shirt. It is the perfect symbol to celebrate wild koalas: gum leaves are 100% natural and critical to koala survival, and most Australians can get one, even in isolation.... Koalas of Raymond Island (our new koala shelter) will celebrate Wild Koala Day by posting on facebook pics of people wearing the gum leaf. Get creative! You can’t wear a real koala, but you can involve a toy one and wear the thing they need most gum leaves. Email your selfie to Shelly Robinson at [email protected] by Friday 1st May 2020. You can also support Wild Koala Day by sharing a pic on social media. Tag #wildkoaladay to show you care about koalas. Pic by Mark Alderman
01.01.2022 We are open weekends, school and public holidays. Other times by appointment 0418586472. No need to book. You will find us on the corner of Sixth and Seventh near the beginning of the Koala Trail.
