12.01.2022 Circa 1989 Tooheys Criterium series outback NSW age 21, so I thought it only appropriate that stage truck podium riders should sport a can of Tooheys beer while saluting the crowd.. . Well that turned into a big night! #support #tooheys #headband #repco #careergoals #hair #whippersnapper

09.01.2022 Edward Kemp has been recently delighted with his launch of Episode 6 of Series 2 of The WIDE OPEN ROAD podcast, interviewing athletes transitioning into life after sport, and in this episode with Rob Crowe. To listen hit this link: https://lnkd.in/gXxKhBx... My guest is former Olympic cyclist Rob Crowe OAM who shares his fascinating story and passion for transition and mental health. Rob is a writer, motivational speaker and director of the mind fitness cycling programs for ridewiser in Melbourne. Ridewisers mission is to enhance mental health through physical cycling training using a special language and framework to correlate the various levels of physical exertion with different mindsets used in everyday life. Rob went into the 1992 Barcelona Olympics in a team that was one of the favourites for the 100km time trial and had to cope with the disappointment of not performing as the team would have liked. The lessons Rob took away from this disappointment helped shape his life after sport. Rob’s passion for health and wellbeing comes across loud and clear during our conversation. Just listen out for his 007 James Bond reference at around 38 minutes in. To all the listeners of The Wide Open Road thank you. I am grateful for your support and feedback. Stay safe. Go well. #thewideopenroadpodcast

01.01.2022 Thanks for including me here, Steve Rooney 2nd with his arm in the air, fell with Warren Doyle (1st) - what a great escapade that was for me, aged 19 in my first nationals, to get away in the break with the big guns and future mates Jamie Kelly (5th) obscured and Grant Rice (4th) centre pic in Tasmanian green. I was lucky enough to have taken a wide line from the final corner, way out of the danger zone and still come 3rd (I’m the lone rider at far left) !!! #woohoo 1989 Canberra National Road Championships (picture by Craig Ianna)
