23.01.2022 FLU VACCINATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE Groups that are eligible for a free goverment-funded vaccine include: - all children aged 6 months to < 5 years old - people aged 5 years and over, who have a chronic medical condition that increases their risk of complications from influenza... - all pregnant woman (at any stage of pregnancy) - all adults aged 65 years and older - all Indigenous individuals aged 5 years old and over Private influenza vaccinations are available for $20 each. 14.01.2022 We have had a few calls regarding the recent outbreak of measles and have contacted the Metropolitan Disease Control Centre (MDCC) this morning. Their advice is to not immunise children before they are due for immunisations. MDCC will contact us if there is any need for prophylactic treatment. If you were born after 1966 and have not had 2 doses of MMR, you can book an appointment for the vaccine (please let us know when you book). Appointments for immunisations cannot be booked online.

12.01.2022 Did you know we have a midwife? We also have 2 GP obstetricians who can share your care with your Obstetrician or hospital. Terri our midwife comes here once a month on a Wednesday, she can see you through your pregnancy and for the first 6 weeks afterwards. Dr Essa Rasool and his daughter Nooshin have been delivering babies for many years as well as general patient care. The clinic will be run from our current practice, Monday to Friday from 9am until 3pm. - no appointments are needed - new patients are welcome - Bulk billed (for all currently registered Medicare card holders)... PLEASE NOTE - ALL IMMUNISATIONS, PROCEDURES AND OTHER COMPLEX ISSUES WILL NEED TO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT BOOKED IN ADVANCE. 07.01.2022 Many people are worried about the Corona Virus that has recently been in the media. The Health Department are testing suspected cases in WA, as yet none are confirmed in WA. 06.01.2022 Do you have children who haven't yet turned 5 years but are older than 13 months? the meningococcal ACWY vaccine is available to them free until December. 15-19 year olds are also able to get it done for free, there is no end date for this age at the moment. This vaccine is now part of the 12 month immunisation. Call to book an appointment on 9478 3009. 03.01.2022 To all our patients, meet our Nurse Practitioner, Kate! Kate graduated from Curtin University in 1991 and has worked overseas and around Australia within a variety of specialities. Previously she has worked in pain management and was instrumental in setting up the pain unit at Fiona Stanley Hospital. Her areas of interest are post-operative rehabilitation, pain and womens health. A Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse educated and authorised to function autonomously and ...collaboratively in an advanced and extended clinical role. This means Kate can write your prescriptions, order diagnostic tests e.g. blood tests/X Rays/ ultrasound scans as required, provide referrals and perform minor procedures e.g. Pap smears, cryotherapy and sexual health testing etc. Kate is available at our clinic every Thursday, from 9am-3pm. 02.01.2022 Were you born in 1966 or later? The WA government has announced that it will be offering the measles vaccine for free for people born after 1966. The article below from Perth Now has more information. You can book with your GP to see if you are eligible. 02.01.2022 The government stock of flu vaccines has arrived, please let us know when you book if it's for the flu vaccine so we can book you with the nurse as well. The flu vaccine if free for the following: children 6 months until they turn 5 yrs old, pregnant women, anyone over 65 years, All Aboriginal and torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and older, individuals aged 6 months and over that have a condition that places them at risk for complications of influenza (please discuss with your doctor).
