24.01.2022 The Electrical Safety Office is investigating a serious electrical incident that happened in February 2017 in Townsville which resulted in the death of a person at a residential property. Initial investigations suggest the person was handling a submersible pump used to pump bore water at the time of the incident. This alert is to remind you of the danger electricity can pose - especially where equipment is located in a wet environment and is energised.... If you have broken or damaged electrical equipment or are unsure of the equipment's safe use, stop using it and contact RIDGELINE ELECTRICAL to inspect it. You should also consider ensuring all power outlets have a safety switch protecting them and if unsure have a licensed electrical contractor inspect and confirm. 06.01.2022 Switches that have a spark when switched without an appliance plugged into them are generally faulty. The mechanism in them may have gone or they could be of inferior quality. Do not use the power point until you have it checked by Ridgeline Electrical. Also only use good quality products - cheap inferior products are not worth it! Tariff 33 is known as the economy tariff and is best suited to water heaters and pool pumps. Tariff 33 is up to 40% less expensive than the regular domestic tariff. According to Energex, Tariff 33 is available for a minimum of 18 hours per day.... The times of supply for Tariff 33 are completely up to the network providers (Energex or Ergon) but it is most likely that Tariff 33 will be switched off between the peak hours of: 4-9pm at night. 6-9am in the morning. As you can see there is plenty of time to run your pool pump and hot water system outside of these hours.
