18.01.2022 A very important message from the SSNA : Congratulations everyone. We have made it to day 9 and our grand final celebration. Last Saturday, our finals day at The Ridge, we received a COVID visit from NSW Police during the 12:00 time slot following a complaint. We were requested to make additional announcements that the NSW police were in attendance to ensure adherence to public health orders.... As part of our grand final celebration we must all continue to follow OUR COVID SAFETY PLAN. We all understand that this is far from a normal season but this is not a normal year. We are limited to 500 persons in each of our outdoor playing zones. That equates to a maximum of 15 people per team, per court, including players, coaches, managers, umpires and spectators. Thank you to all our members and their families for their understanding and compliance with our return to play plan. We look forward to your continued support and co-operation on our Finals day at Bellingara. Karen Salter and SSNA Executive

13.01.2022 COACH IN THE SPOTLIGHT Alexys Cambey and Sophie Mayday These dedicated girls are the coaches of our gorgeous little 10B2 team. Both girls have played for BRNC since they were 7. We are very proud of Alexys and Sophie. Thank you girls for being amazing mentors and role models for the next generation of Ridgies ... Looking forward to seeing you coaching again next season. Alexys This is your first year coaching, what has been the most rewarding and most challenging about it? The most rewarding thing about coaching for me this year has been getting to see each and every one of our little girls improving and having a whole lot of fun on the courts each week and at training. The most challenging thing has been getting to know each of the girls and learning about how each of them play individually, so we could coach and train them in a way in which each of the girls could mould and work together as a team. Why did you decide to start coaching? Since the 10s, Sophie and I have always said that we have wanted to coach and this year we decided that we should just go for it and give it a go. I decided that this year was the year that I was going to use all the skills that Ive been taught over the many years Ive played and help these younger girls who are still developing their netball skills. What positions do you play? Midcourt, mainly WA What is it like to coach with your friend? It has been really great coaching with Sophie this year, as we have know each other for so long and have been playing together since nursery netball. We both work really well together and have similar coaching styles which makes it easier to bounce ideas off each other. It has been an amazing experience that we are both grateful for and are both extremely happy that we stepped out of our comfort zones and took up the job of coaching a wonderful 10s team. Sophie 1. the most rewarding about coaching has been able to watch the girls grow and develop new skills. the most challenging thing would be having to know each of the girls so that we could teach them and make sure they were all able to grow together as a team. 2. I started coaching because I wanted to see and watch a team grow in one season and see how they could improve and play a game of netball to have fun. 3. I play in most positions, in my team I mostly play C and GA. 4. I really enjoyed coaching with alexys because we were able to both put our knowledge of netball together to create a team of wonderful girls that had fun all season. They improve every game. Congratulations on a fantastic season
