19.01.2022 Ridgway reserve now to be offered at Classings Classic 2020 Unfortunately after a trip to the AI center we have had to withdraw 190121 from the classic sale. His semen quality isn’t up to the standard we expect so we have made the call to withdraw him and replace him with 190063 from our stud reserves. We would like to apologize to anyone who was interested in purchasing 190121 but we are confident that his semen quality will improve and when it does we will be offering him up as a semen sire. 190063 is a very exciting replacement, a ram with great structure and bone and a fleece of heavy cutting white crimpy wool. He has exceptional staple length measuring 115mm with 6 months wool growth. We have collected good quality semen from him and will use him as a semen sire within our stud.

15.01.2022 Ridgway will be offering 175 1.5 year old MN3 Poll Merino ewes at this Friday’s Lameroo Off Shear’s Sale. These ewes weighed 72kg when assessed last week and cut 4.2kg and 72mm staple length when shorn in September from 5 months and 1 weeks growth. Sale to be interfaced with Auctions Plus.

14.01.2022 One week until 2019 drop SA Sire Evaluation Trial Field Day. Featuring progeny from 16 leading sires (including Ridgway 170005) run in the same conditions. Also some great guest speakers. Shouldn’t be missed!

14.01.2022 Very pleased with how our ewes sold today at Lameroo Off Shears. Our 1.5 year olds topped the sale at $340 and our 4.5 and 5.5 year olds sold for $240. A big thank you to the buyers and underbidders.

12.01.2022 We have been entering rams in sire evaluation trials for over 10 years to benchmark our rams alongside those from other leading studs. Duane has done an outstanding job managing the SA sire evaluation trial for the past 2 years and should be commended on his efforts. It would be well worth your time to head to the upcoming field day in October to view the progeny from the 2019 drop. Full report can be found on the merinosuperiorsires website. We are also very pleased with how well Ridgway 005 performed in the trial providing a great example of the true dual purpose traits of Ridgway genetics

06.01.2022 *** Update on 190121 *** 190121 was to be our lead ram at this years Classings Classic Sale. Unfortunately we had to withdraw him as his semen quality wasn’t up to scratch at the time of sale. We would like to let you know that he was re-tested last week and now has excellent quality semen. We will join him to around 90 ewes in about a weeks time and will collect and sell semen if demand warrants.

01.01.2022 Ridgway will be offering 230 4.5 and 5.5 year old Poll Merino ewes at this Friday’s Lameroo Off Shears sale. Consisting of 200 5.5 year olds and 30 4.5 year olds this is a rare opportunity to secure top quality dual purpose stud ewes. Classed yearly, so if they have made it this far they are very handy sheep. Ewe flock averages 18.5-19 micron, cutting 4.5kg and 70mm every 6 months.
