25.01.2022 Do you ever have a day when you feel like all the stars are aligned? Well, thats the kind of lesson that Ruby and Peach had today. Everything clicked! There was patience, determination, leadership, compliance, and an overjoyed instructor! This was a great lesson!

25.01.2022 I got a little freedom this weekend to do my own ride with Jackie Benner Christel! What a great time in between rain showers!

25.01.2022 Out at Highpoint Equestrian Center today doing Tom Reeds Extreme Trail Obstacles. First hour was in hand and the second hour was in the saddle. Toby did well on many obstacles but there were some out of my comfort zone. The gigantic bridge was just too tall! That just tells me I need to come back and try again! Never give up but know your limits, never be in a hurry, and always end on a positive note! Great job Toby!

24.01.2022 Our trail obstacle course continues to grow! Bring on the horse teeter totter!

24.01.2022 Now that the smoke has cleared, Im looking forward to getting back to our riding lessons! I cant wait to see all my students! Ive missed you!

23.01.2022 When youve completed the obstacle course, we introduced something of interest to Peach! Amanda also giving Peach a pep-talk! Great job Amanda and Hunter!

23.01.2022 Have you seen the weather? Wahoo! Perfect for a riding lesson! This Cowgirl is here to help you to learn the basics or just a refresher on her horse or yours!

23.01.2022 I just saw this post for a new consignment shop! This is a great place to get tack for those who are planning on getting a horse. Remember, you need the horse first in order to get a good fitting saddle, otherwise you are purchasing saddle pads to make up the difference!

22.01.2022 Sometimes riding lessons are hard but according to Justine, I still love him! Doing whats hard either makes you stronger or makes you quit. What kind of rider are you?

22.01.2022 Savannah, you are my ROCKSTAR! I love the way you take charge of that Belgian! Kick it GURL!

22.01.2022 Rusty - the big Appaloosa, brother to Patches, had a little makeover! Handsome as ever!

21.01.2022 The Georgia Peach was working on her trail obstacle skills today. My client Mimi had a great lesson on her yesterday working on balance and working on change of pace. Are YOU ready to get back in the saddle again? Call now and take advantage of the July special...6 lessons for the price of 5!!!

21.01.2022 Just remember when lessons get hard because youre learning something new and your horse is trying to read you, just know there are others out there who are experiencing the same thing. Youre not alone! Be the best you can be every day and NEVER EVER GIVE UP!

20.01.2022 My joy is overflowing! Build it and they will come.

20.01.2022 When love is poured out on the instructor, healing from emergency surgery happens that much quicker! Thank you to Faith and Ruby for your kindness. We have 4 weeks of recovery ahead with lifting nothing heavier than a gallon of milk! Riding lessons will resume when the doctor clears me! Hugs to you all!

20.01.2022 What is love? It’s every little thing that people say or do that indicates how they feel about you! As I continue to heal and recover from emergency abdominal surgery, I’ve been receiving phone calls, cards, gifts to raise my spirits, and offers to help in any way possible. Let me tell all of you, especially those who are here every day caring for our horse family...where would I be without you? You’ve opened your hearts to me, put my situation on the top of your to do list, and shown me EXACTLY what God wants everyone of us to see; that we are loved, cherished, and that our place in this world matters to others. Sorry to be so mushy...but not really THAT sorry! I am so anxious to get back to what I love and that includes sharing the horses and my time with YOU! Sending you all my love and gratitude!

19.01.2022 Dan brought Peach apples today and Peach made apple sauce!

19.01.2022 Are you over 50 years old and realizing THE TIME IS NOW to learn to ride? Were here for you! Matching the rider with the appropriate horse is key! Send us a message! What are you waiting for?

19.01.2022 Its HOT! Love the space youre in! After all, it could be 55 degrees and raining!

18.01.2022 Ruby is just starting her horseback riding experiences and this is probably her 5th lesson and first time trotting. Already she has learned to guide her horse with her legs, to have soft hands with the reins and a sure seat in the saddle! We focus on the positive and eliminate the negative! I celebrate you Ruby and your desire to try new things!

17.01.2022 I just needed to send you all a little hug today! I caught the feels just looking at how much this baby was enjoying the cuddle time!

17.01.2022 I have known, and PREACHED this ALL my life. Taught to my students too. Finally, someone wrote an article and presented good photos. ORIGINAL POST BY: Runnin...g T Horsemanship, Dana Lovell We are big at teaching the "why" - this was too good not to share. It's the "little" things you do to help your horse that makes them happy and enjoy their time with you. Pulling your saddle pad up into the pommel. It can can take a bit of practice with saddle shifting and pad pulling, but your horse will appreciate it. Without being pulled up, when the saddle is cinched the pad presses down on the withers potentially causing discomfort. With the pad pulled up into the pommel the withers have room to move and there isn't a pressure point. If you aren't already in the habit of doing this the next time you ride put your fingers between the pad and your horses withers while walking or trotting. It's our job to make sure that they can comfortably carry us. This simple shift can help to make that happen.

16.01.2022 When your horse needs you to soak his foot, it happens on his schedule and not yours. This is how we COWGIRL UP!

16.01.2022 The elf on the ranch was busy today! Gravel at the gate spread by the tractor, a little elbow grease, and then compacted. The elf is tired! Hopefully this will control the winter mud!

16.01.2022 Now that the smoke has cleared, I’m looking forward to getting back to our riding lessons! I can’t wait to see all my students! I’ve missed you!

15.01.2022 Now having a coach like this would mean Peach would need a buddy to help pull it! This would really be something!

15.01.2022 My superstar for the day was 5 yr old Pearl. Shes been practicing her turns at home with Mom and Dad and today, we saw a beautiful combination of partnership between her and Peach. Im so very proud of you Pearl! My heart is bursting!

14.01.2022 I love to celebrate hard work, determination, and the desire to be the best that you can be! 10 year old Zoey demonstrates this at every lesson. With her big expressive eyes and a smile that is hidden behind a mask, she is working to build strength and balance to be the best barrel racer she can be! She doesnt quit when the going gets tough. She drops her heels, sits deep, and focuses on the task! This is DRIVE! So incredibly proud of you Zoey! Whoop whoop!

14.01.2022 Chicksaddlery.com has schooling helmets on sale for $26! They are ASTM/SEI approved and tested! This is a great sale if you need a helmet!

13.01.2022 So many questions in the last week about the use of rein and leg cues! This is a great article about just that! Legs should cue first and then reins! Its balancing and dancing all in one! https://pin.it/4SMC9fr

13.01.2022 What makes my world go-round is helping people gain confidence in the saddle. We dont have to have perfection! We just have to TRY! All good things come in time! This was Amandas 3rd lesson and she demonstrated beautiful leadership with Peach! At Willow Creek Ranch, there is a reason to celebrate EVERYTHING!

12.01.2022 Things to think about before buying a horse: purchase price of the horse, purchase price of a truck and horse trailer. Now, lets consider the yearly maintenance of that beautiful horse: property taxes for your acreage, monthly stable fees if boarding, cost on your property if you are putting in a pasture-round pen-arena, veterinary fees, veterinary medications, grooming supplies, hay and grain, farrier fees every 6-8 weeks, specialty clothing, saddles and tack, insurance, and utilities for your barn. And then you see images like...

11.01.2022 When youre ready, our equine partners are taking appointments! The horses, saddles, bridles, and helmets are waiting. All we need is you!

11.01.2022 I couldnt be more thrilled than I am right now! All the preparations and focus have paid off! I am now a nationally certified recreational riding instructor with ARIA! Moving forward with this under my belt, my education will continue and my drive to improve the way in which I approach horse problems will continue! Im so grateful to have such a supportive husband, Rick Thomas, daughter, Lauren Thomas and supportive friends who were willing to write letters of recommendation for me... Tom Reed, Alison Perkins, and Donald Weeks. And thank you to Kathy Richardson for reviewing my video submission on rollbacks! I did have to re-record the video but received 5/5 for teaching, rider, and horse suitability! Im a very happy cowgirl!

10.01.2022 When you have to turn away with happy tears in your eyes because your heart horse has just hugged someone else for the first time! Zoey, this touched me beyond words! Khopper loves you too!

10.01.2022 When a child’s joy is infectious. Horses just have that effect on some people! Love the little things today!

09.01.2022 Dear Clients, I will be reaching out to you personally, but please be aware that with the smoke issues being significant, we will be monitoring air quality this week. We want you to be in a healthy environment and the horses to be cared for in the same way. While there are no N-95 masks for horses, we may have to give them time off to give their lungs time to clear. Thinking of you

09.01.2022 Do you ever have a day when you feel like all the stars are aligned? Well, that’s the kind of lesson that Ruby and Peach had today. Everything clicked! There was patience, determination, leadership, compliance, and an overjoyed instructor! This was a great lesson!

08.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone! I just want to do a shout out to all my clients! Thank you for allowing me to be your instructor! I am so honored that you chose me when there are several instructors out there who are amazing! You bring me such joy every day! You are my blessing and a way that I get to share my horses with those who want to learn how to ride and learn the language of Equus! I laugh with you, I cheer you on, and I celebrate every success you have. Besides my family and my horses, YOU are apart of my heart. Thank you for who you are and the love you bring to each experience with the horse you ride. I see it and they feel it. Each rub, atta boy, and hug is a communication of love and appreciation. Love to all of you!

08.01.2022 Being the boss isnt an easy task especially when you are learning how to push all the right buttons to control your direction! Hunter, with kindness and tenacity progressed from passenger to director of the USS Georgia Peach! Im so very proud of you Hunter! Well done!

06.01.2022 Lots of good experiences today and things to build on for both horse and rider! Thank you Tom Reed!

05.01.2022 Thank you 40Something Cowgirls for sharing! I was so impressed I needed to share again!

04.01.2022 My ranch assistant, Vilona Monica Trista, and I finished the bridge today! Its Rocky and Toby approved!

04.01.2022 Second teeter-totter fabulous try with Mimi Love! So proud of her and Patches! The try and the leadership is what thrills me! So proud of both of you!

04.01.2022 When your clients look to you for more than just riding lessons...you bring them math lessons as well! We live in a world full of math...make it easy and make it real!

04.01.2022 Trail obstacle work is so much fun! Its a great bonding experience with your horse!

03.01.2022 The teeter-totter is an amazing relationship building experience. There is a great deal of ground-work that goes into the relationship between the rider and their mount before this is ever attempted. We celebrate all tries! Sometimes a little too excitedly on my part! Im just so blown away at the human-equine desire for relationship and leadership! Well done Jordan and Khopper!

02.01.2022 Amee had her first ride today on Patches. She focused on having quiet hands and the cadence of the lope. Well done Amee!

02.01.2022 When you know something special is about to happen...Dan the Man! Such a special cowboy!

02.01.2022 When the unexpected talent of a 5 year old emerges during a riding lesson, it just leaves me breathless! And when my heart horse recognizes he has a precious treasure on his back, it just amazes me how blessed I am that he’s mine!
