25.01.2022 #update: Just letting everyone know how thankful I am for such a huge support network. I don't have to change the way I am operating at this stage and I have a meeting with the Shire on Monday. I am so sad and disappointed. Someone from the Shire of Murray has come and said a local Furnissdale person has reported me and I am now being forced to remove all roosters even though The Western Australian Poultry Rescue Association is government approved, its apparently not council approved. So now I am only aloud 40 hens and no roosters. I am so heart broken, angry and disheartened. I totally lost it and told the Shire guy to F*CK *FF I do what I do for the roosters and the people who love them. Now I am in the exact position of the people that bring their roosters here.

16.01.2022 We had 8 Roosters fitted with crow collars by the lovely Mel Byrne yesterday and its so quiet around here All crow collars will be tested and adjusted to ensure they are working effectively before a rooster is rehomed. My rehoming service is free but if a collar is fitted theres a cost of $20. These boys will start to become available as early as next weekend. Sooo excited to be able to offer more people the joy of having a boy in their flock.

He said I need 100 followers before he will spend the time recording and editing the clips I really want to do. The clips I want to do are; How to health check a hen, How to health check a rooster, How to clip wings, How to worm with tablets and ... How to treat parasites. If you want to see any of these or anything else (you want to suggest), then please subscribe (its free) See more

09.01.2022 For anyone who has used Rid Rooster, recommended Rid Rooster, heard about Rid Rooster or believes in Rid Rooster, we need media coverage. Please like us, review us, mention us or pretty much anything that might give us some exposure so that the Western Australian Poultry Rescue Association aka Rid Rooster can continue. I have and will continue to give my heart, soul and time to saving the Roosters (and other poultry) but the reality that I need somewhere Rural to do that is sinking in.

08.01.2022 I am feeling very sad and overwhelmed by the amount of chooks I am seeing with lice and mites. Its a very common thing but this is on chickens that people truly believe are healthy. Your chooks appearing healthy from a distance in no way means that they are. I want to offer a free service to everyone to do a health check on their chickens. Its just a basic check which is what I do to all Poultry that comes in and that I see on my visits to other people's houses. If you would like a free health check on your poultry I will be working at Lenise Hilda’s Hen Saddles stall at Mundijong Markets this Sunday. You just need to bring one of your birds, your rooster, if you have one, will be best. Alternatively you can visit me at my home in Furnissdale.

07.01.2022 We now have a sign in/log book. Its to help me keep track of the people that come and drop roosters off and also so I remember who so kindly donates chicken food, so I can keep providing my rehoming service

03.01.2022 To all our amazing followers. Please take a moment to click on this link and listen to Rachel's interview with Barry. She comes on at about 35 minutes into the segment. Fast forward straight to it. It goes for around 5 minutes. Hit like and share this post far and wide. If your share can save one little roosters life, it was worth every second. TIA

03.01.2022 In search of a black fronted double laced barnevelder rooster.

02.01.2022 Anyone with more than 50 penned chickens will feel my excitement. I was so happy about this jam packed trolley of greens, I felt teary. Not only do the animals LOVE it but being in pens means they are unable to forage. Without foraging they miss out on the percentage of fresh greens they should have in their diet. This will cut my food bill significantly today My ute broke down so this car is borrowed lucky for newspaper or I would have felt bad.

02.01.2022 We are considering setting up some new pens as a poultry hotel. I have noticed people asking for pet sitters and if there's something like this in WA. I think its time people had some options The hotel would be set on a concrete floor and disinfected between guests. Would there be much interest in this?

02.01.2022 We are desperately looking for some New Hampshire hens, pullets or chickens for one of our lonely roosters. If he has some wives he has a home. Please help if you have even 1 to spare. Pm me the details.
