15.01.2022 Best Bolognese in Australia! It is no secret that families are short on time. With busy work schedules and kids maxed out on extra curricular activities, finding a moment to sit around the dinner table with loved ones - let alone having an extra 10 minutes for food prep - can be hard. That is why I founded The Right Food Group all those years ago, to make wholesome meals more accessible. Last night Channel Nines A Current Affair program led a special investigation into the... hidden ingredients in what has become a sure fire family favourite, the supermarket spaghetti bolognese sauce. With 11 international brands in the line up, including the Murwillumbah, New South Wales cooked and loved Woolworths Macro Chunky Bolognese Pasta Sauce, nutritionist and best-selling author Dr Joanna McMillan evaluated the products. Focusing on nutritional value, McMillan sought to identify the best for you, those that are low in salt, sugar, additives and refined oil. As she explains, you need to ask, what are they adding? Taking out best pasta sauce in Australia was Macros Chunky Bolognese Sauce proudly made by The Right Food Group alongside America's Newmans Own. As McMillan explains, "they have much healthier fat, they are made with olive oil rather than sunflower oil and other refined oils." I am so pleased to share this story with you all because I think it is a fantastic example of the multifaceted benefits of eating clean and organic. Not only is it good for your health and the environment but, behind the scenes, it provides job opportunities for rural Australian communities. Over the last week we have been through a nightmare - so this win feels extra special. Big thanks to our wonderful farmers, people, friends and independent and national distributors. All who have so graciously offered to assist. #localmatters #recovery2017. https://www.9now.com.au//1/supermarket-spaghetti-bolognese

14.01.2022 Always go for what's in season - and what's local. Happy Friday everyone!

12.01.2022 The earth is the only world known so far to harbour life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Like it not, ...for the moment the earth is where we make our stand. It underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another and to preserve and cherish the only home we've ever known. Let's think about what we're using on our farms and what's going into our soils, as this is where our food begins. #organic #certifiedorganic See more

12.01.2022 Did you know bees are responsible for one in six of the flowering plant species worldwide?! And for over 20 years beekeepers have been reporting annual hive los...ses of 30 percent or higher. GMO crops and the widespread use of pesticides are largely responsible for the radical decline. Make sure you keep these little guys in business and #buyorganic #aco . This is a beautiful write up if you wish to learn more: http://e360.yale.edu//declining_bee_populations_pose_a_thr See more

03.01.2022 Do you know what the difference between something labelled organic and something that is certified organic? When consumers choose a product that carries a cer...tification logo like the Australian Certified Organic (ACO) Bud logo or the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia (NASAA) logo they are protected by consumer laws. ACO routinely and randomly audits and tests businesses and products that use the logos. Products wearing the logos must follow the requirements and regulations set out in the Australian Certified Organic Standard :) See more
