21.01.2022 Right On Point -Another Success For me as a Chinese Medicine professional, it is a great honour to have an opportunity to be involved in creating a positive he...alth-change in the society. Right On Point just won the grant from Slavic Welfare Association in Melbourne for organising and conducting an Educational program for its members presented in participants native language, comprising of 2 Workshops & 3 Seminars from Welbeing Series Neighbour to Neighbour. Before the program starts two additional train the trainer-pre-courses will be held the last week in February and the first week in March. The sessions will take place at different venues in Melbourne currently used by the Slavic Welfare Association community groups, from March till the end of June 2019. The seminars and workshops topics are carefully selected aiming to: 1. Firstly, to empower the audience to understand and successfully confront common conditions of stress, anxiety and depression, which are prevalent in contemporary society 2. Secondly, to provide easily understandable and easily applicable general and specific dietary guidelines according to person’s specific requirements 3. Thirdly, to provide a Chinese medicine insight into diabetes prevention, causes and management that can complement the Western medical approach 4. Fourthly, to arm participants with specific hands-on acupressure techniques that can be safely self-applied, as well as applied to help a family member or a friend to relieve pain; 5. Fifthly, to teach participants a gentle exercise sequence, which, when practiced regularly, will help a person to feel good, energised and motivated. This, in turn, would help the body to function at the optimal level and stay healthy. Through engaging in the whole program, participants will shift their perception of themselves as being an object in the health system to being actively involved as an important subject who can consciously make decisions and constantly contribute to the creation of their health. Thus empowered by new knowledge and practices, participants would be able to support themselves and their families in a more competent manner, which, in turn, would enhance their sense of wellbeing. For more details about the program contact Slavic Welfare Organisation Coordinator Piljic, Mrs Mirjana on 03 9639 1930.

03.01.2022 Why Am I Always Tired from 3-5 pm? I owe an apology, for not answering in time, to the woman who posed this question to me recently, asking me to address it... from the Chinese Medicine perspective. Whilst answering the others, this very important question, somehow, got missed. It is all about Circadian Rhythm: The Rhythm that influences our physical and mental health from birth to death and stays unrecognised by majority of people. ... These 24-hour rhythms are driven by a circadian clock, and they have been widely observed in plants, animals, fungi, and cyanobacteria. The term circadian comes from the Latin circa, meaning "around" (or "approximately"), and dim, meaning "day". Chinese Medicine theory states: Qi, our vital energy, follows the 24/hour schedule, travelling through our body, spending 2 hours in each organ-helping it to work as best as it can. During the 2 hours (for Lung from 3-5 am), Qi is in the Lung organ, so this organ has the most of energy and can perform its function the best. On the other hand, this organ would be at its weakest point at a time when Qi is furthest away (on the cycle) from it (at 3-5 pm). Consequently, a person that, by the nature of the job would spend 6 hours a day teaching-talking to other people, would, day after day, consume his/her Lung energy maximally. If energy resources are not replenished adequately, the energy-deficiency symptoms (tiredness), would be felt firstly at a time when, naturally, Lung organ has the minimum of its daily energy supply according to Circadian rhythm, which is in this case from 3-5 pm. To have better visual understanding please visit: https://fractalenlightenment.com//the-power-of-ritual-and- At about the same time, I came across the modern scientific data confirming the materialistic base of the postulate of Chinese Medicine theory, that I used here in order to answer the question asked. I was amazed that the postulate which was established and taught for thousands of years, recently got it’s confirmation through hard work of modern science. Modern science revealed physiology behind Mitochondria-the power generators within our cells, that adjust their energy production according to Circadian Rhythm. Scientists state that the protein called Drp1 which is synchronised by our internal biological clock determines the design of the mitochondrial network, and this, in turn, influences the cells' energy capacity," explains study leader Professor Anne Eckert from the University of Basel's Transfaculty Research Platform Molecular and Cognitive Neurosciences MCN. So this little protein is the one that like a conductor directs the Mitochondria within the cell to produce maximal or minimal amount of energy for that organ, at the appropriate time of the day. It also is the one to switches on and off production of energy in different organs during the day, not randomly, but according to Circadian Rhythm. Can you also, NOW, see Qi travelling through the body... Even ancient Chinese scholars did not have the scientific instruments we got today at our disposal, they unmistakably saw through the nature of the changes observed within the person and their causes. They of course used the terms familiar to them to describe both, the changes and their cause and sure, those terms are different from what we all, in Western Society are used to. My vision is that with time, and it might not be a very long time, science will be able to draw parallels between "new" discoveries and "old" theories, confirming and finally fully understanding all the postulates pertinent to ancient Chinese Medicine. At a mean time, all of us Chinese Medicine doctors, will continue to help those in need, honoring the knowledge of generations of scholars that spent their lives acquiring it.
