14.01.2022 Interested in getting the facts and figures on bail? The AIC has today released a new study on bail practices and policy alternatives in Australia. The study was based on fieldwork in Tasmania, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales and was undertaken by researchers from University of Tasmania, Charles Sturt University, University of South Australia, University of Melbourne and Griffith University. We have the chance to work together to make a statement or join with others to express our views. Significant matters in delegated legisla...tion: the committee is seeking advice on why it is considered necessary and appropriate to leave the decision-making principles in relation to whether a person may exit the cashless debit card program to delegated legislation. Significant matters in non-disallowable instruments: the committee is seeking advice in relation to ministerial determinations of restricted and unrestricted welfare payment amounts, and cashless debit card program areas, which are exempt from disallowance. Privacy: the committee is seeking advice on the type of information which may be disclosed about current and prospective program participants and the safeguards that apply. See more
