24.01.2022 There are roughly 600kJ in two small choc chip biscuits. How long do you think you would have to walk to burn those kilojoules off? 18 minutes, 37 minutes or 54 minutes? Find out here: http://ow.ly/87iF50p3CQg

21.01.2022 Lacing techniques 3. Do you have issues with new footwear feeling too snug around your feet in the first few weeks you wear them? Try this forefoot lacing technique to help the upper relax a little across the foofoot area, this will help them give a little quicker. **always get your feet measured to make sure the shoe isnt actually too tight for your foot***

18.01.2022 DRY NEEDLING Dry needling/acupuncture can accompany other treatment therapy to help patients recover from musculoskeletal injuries and pain. Often in foot complaints a combination of orthotics, dry needling and manual therapies work very well to improve chronic and acute pain. Myofascial trigger points are caused by over use and poor lower limb mechanics. The points are often associated with nodules in tight bands of muscle fibres that lead to tightness and tension through ...tendons, muscle and joints. I use dry needling a lot in clinic for plantar fasciitis. Achilles tendinitis and tight calf muscle conditions. Dry needling can also be quite affective in relieving pain associated with neuropathy, and neuromas. To book your appointment and initial assessment call 94556009 or look us up on healthengine!

Use a heat pack in the morning and stretch your foot gently with a towel around your forefoot.... 3. Wear sneakers or a good shoe with a firm, not soft, sole. 4. Ice it! Later in the day if its painful. If its still not improving make an appointment 94556009 we can help with dry needling, laser or shockwave, we also make orthotics if it has a biomechanical cause.

18.01.2022 Foot and lower leg injuries in sport Your foot is a mobile adapter, it does so by rolling in or out depending on the activity. When this happens your leg also rolls in or outward. These motions are a normal part of walking, running and jumping. Some times a combination of poor lower limb mechanics and repetitive and excessive motions in sport and gym activities can lead to injury.... The following are a few examples:- Shin splints Stress fractures Tendonitis Blisters Sprains Knee injuries If your experiencing pain during a repetitive movement whilst in the gym or playing sport you are likely carrying an injury. Call us on 94556009 for assessment to see if your feet are the cause.

02.01.2022 Interesting Stuff!

01.01.2022 People of Armadale Rejoice! Zara Secker will be holding her first face to face diabetes support group at the Armadale Library on Friday 22 March. Since she... was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2017, Zara has completed our DESMOND self management workshop and is a keen contributor in our DESMOND Facebook Support group. When she realised there wasnt a diabetes support group in the Armadale area, she decided to start her own. She finds it helpful to talk with people about their experiences with diabetes and is excited to help others along their journey. I am hoping that people will find support and an understanding of what they are experiencing with their diabetes journey, Zara told the Armadale Examiner. I would love to see the group empower its members to speak out with confidence about their dietary and other needs by teaching others not to be exclusive. For more information about Zaras support group, other diabetes support group locations or starting your own support group, visit http://ow.ly/KORJ50kdrM2.

01.01.2022 Midfoot lock lacing If you have a shallow instep then this lacing technique is for you! A shallow instep accompanies a flat foot usually and you may not feel sufficient support through that midsection when you lace your shoes. If you participate in sports such as football, basketball and netball then give this a try for extra lateral motion support.
