When you are feeling guilty as a parent spending too much of the home time catching up on work, it really doesn't mean that your guilty feeling is right. Emotions are data not directions beneath that guilt is often a sign that you value being present and connected with your children and that you have failed to implement a work/life balance in that moment. When you catch yourself in that experience, ask yourself the question: Will i...t really matter 5 years from now if I get the report in a day later? If the answer is no, then engage with your family and find out what’s most important to them at that precise moment! It’s possible that 5 years later your family may pinpoint that conversation as a life changing or defining exchange. For more than 200 days of restrictions and close to 12 weeks of Lockdown, Victorians and more specifically, Melburnians, have been placed under one of the most extensive State of Emergencies anywhere in the world. This singular health goal has created so many flow on effects that define the term state of disaster. It can be argued that the cost of the virus fight has been disproportionate to the loss of lives, livelihoods and mental health being seen as ‘acceptable costs’. It’s time for all leaders to clearly communicate using humility, empathy and honesty as the communication framework! Not media spin, political ideologies and point-scoring! The painting of 'Referendum' with her daughter 'Giselle' is a commissioned painting by the incredibly talented Natalee Anne Pangrazio who is a creative light force a and a single mum, (Mom) running multiple businesses and leading an amazing team. Painted from a photo taken by the equally talented Robyn Whishaw I am in awe of those with a creative bent! My heroes are always single parents raising kids. I've been blessed to do that with an amazing life partner. I could only imagine how challenging it would be to do it on your own! If no one has told you today, you are awesome!

I would like to think that I can motivate anyone, anywhere and from any situation. But give me a plant to look after whilst you are on holidays and I will hand you back a dead pot plant. I probably won't take the time to read the care instructions Unfortunately, the people we lead do not come with care instructions Unless we take the time to find out their individual personality triggers.
