16.01.2022 With summer well on the way, so is the season of summer festivals that make summer in Sydney so wonderful. Dont miss Sculpture by the Sea on the Bondi to Bronte walk, and look for the smaller festivals, like the summer Baroque music festival at the Con.

15.01.2022 Still raining??? With heavy rain forecast for the South-East over the next few days, theres still plenty of uniquely Surry Hills solutions to the wet weather. Catch a movie at the Golden Age Cinema and bar in Commonwealth Street. It was the preview theatre for Paramount Movies from the 1940s and has been recently restored with a wonderful atmospheric bar attached. http://ourgoldenage.com.au/the-cinema/

12.01.2022 It can be a nightmare working out where to park in Sydney (if you can find a spot to start with!). We always recommend that unless youre planning on driving out every day, its best to use public transport when staying with us.

02.01.2022 Walking along Crown Street in Surry Hills is always enjoyable. And of course theres the required mandatory stop to sip a coffee, or something stronger! But walking on Crown Street the other day, I noticed something different. The City of Sydney magically made the streets Christmas decorations appear overnight, ready for the Surry Hills Village Christmas Concert on 3rd December. Usually the concerts in Ward Park, but this year because of the light rail construction along Devonshire Street (...it will be worth the wait!), the concert will be in Prince Alfred Park on Chalmer Street, where you can also take a cooling dip in the Citys newest public pool. https://whatson.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au//surry-hills-villa

02.01.2022 With this afternoons showers, it seems that autumn has finally reached Sydney and Brickfield Hill. Here though, its cozy and warm.
