23.01.2022 With the April competition held last week-end, some may have forgotten that the first club shoot for May will be next Sunday the 2nd and not the normal 2nd Sunday of the month. In addition to this, there will be a flower show running at the same time which means that we will have to use the right hand side of the range. With winter approaching and the need to relocate the frames, we'll start at 10am. I would appreciate it if you could be there by 9am to assist in the setup. Entry will be via the western end.

21.01.2022 Beware. The swarm has arrived. 1st Place x 4 2nd Place x 3 3rd Place x 2 3rd - 10th x 1... 1st RBA x 1 1st IRB x 1 1st TRA x 1 See more

20.01.2022 Annie Elliott, winner winner chicken dinner. Well actually it was roast pork, left over trifle and a couple of glasses of Hornet Venom.

19.01.2022 Hannah wanted to support the club and shoot the event but schoolwork only allowed her the time to shoot the TRA match on Saturday night. Her father Leon, has just introduced her to fClass but she doesn't like shooting her .223 off a bipod. Mark and Fiona from Kaizen Tactical donated a Trackplate and cap and surprise surprise guess who was the winner of the raffle for juniors, under the age of 15 and shooting in detail 2. Thanks to Kaizen Tactical for the support. I'm sure she'll put it to good use.

17.01.2022 Just a reminder for Sunday. It's the 2nd round of the Club Championship and you'll need to shoot 5 matches in qualify. Because the Bromeliad Show is on, entry is through the western end of the range and we are using benches 36-50. Benches will be drawn on your arrival and bench rotation will happen as per the rules.

16.01.2022 The donations for the Prize Table started rolling up today. Norm is big into knives so he donated a couple. Last thing we expected him to do was demonstrate how sharp they were. So whoever wins it just remember IT'S SHARP.

15.01.2022 All 60 tickets in the Huntsman tuners have been sold. So for those of you who still want a chance to win something and maybe suffering from a little FOMO phobia, Stuart from BRT and I have put together another raffle prize. This time however the tickets will be sold on the day and are limited only to the number sold. $10/ticket. The prize is a Shars Granite Comparator complete with an Ogive to base and Rim Thickness die. PLUS 500 rounds of Lapua Centre+. Value in excess of $350.

14.01.2022 It's getting closer. Targets are done. Prizes are sorted. Over to the range tomorrow to setup. A very big thanks to our sponsors without whom this great event would just be another shoot.

13.01.2022 April Club Competition The next round of the club competition is on Sunday 25/4. Because this is also ANZAC Day, shooting cannot commence until 1pm. Suggest you be there around 12noon to sign in and setup.

11.01.2022 12 people turned up yesterday for Round 2 of the Club Championship, despite the weather and the possibility of a rogue Bromeliad attack from the flower show. Annie seemed to have overcome her problems with the "loose bloop" and took out the day by just 4 dots from Murray. Simon still has a 2 point lead from Murray in the overall standings but there is a long way to go yet. With the winner being decided from the best 5, I'm thinking if Annie shoots 6 events you guys might be in trouble. Dane shot the most dots on a single card(17) but understands that it's the big number in the front which wins the biscuits.

10.01.2022 On Mark's advice and proper WH&S protocol, Norm's donation to the Prize Table has been upgraded. Should keep the winner covered for at least the first 20 times it gets un-sheathed.

06.01.2022 Well the event is over and things have settled down a little and I’m going through a list of things to finalise the event. I’ll see if we can arrange some more photos to go up later today. From some of the feedback I have heard, I think everyone had a good time and enjoyed the event. Our aim was to provide a unique event in a relaxed atmosphere where the competitors could enjoy themselves after what has been a trying year for shooting. As always these events do not just run... themselves. Thanks to Danae and Lyn for helping the ladies in the canteen even before the event started. Both of these ladies are not members of the club but were happy to do their bit for us. I hope we can repay your generosity down the track. Thanks also to Clinton who assisted the range setup and it's reconfiguration between legs after driving 11 hrs from Blackall Then there are the club members who both worked and shot which I though was a huge effort. Thank you to Richard P, Simon, Annie, Bill, Norm, Greg R, Benny, Murray, Phil, Mark, Bernie, Ellen and Stuart. Thanks also to Helen who looked after Roger P and to Sonia who guided Phil through his first serious benchrest competition. Whilst there needs to be a Tournament Director to keep things on track, without you guys the rubber never hits the road. And how do we thank Yvette, Karen & Betty in the canteen who kept our spirits up with food and drink over the 2 days. Unfortunately all three ladies are married to shooters and do not shoot themselves but are happy to contribute to the success of the club. Then there are the sponsors without whom this would have been just another shoot. Your sponsorships ensured that everyone went away with a prize from the table in excess of their nomination fee. Thank you for your support and I hope the competitors appreciate your support as much as the club does. I’d especially like to thank ELEY in the UK for kicking in 5000 rounds of TENEX. I’m sure that the winners are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the next shipment. Finally to the competitors. Thanks for showing faith in the event and supporting us. We had a number of 100 yard/ 500m centrefire shooters attend. I think they now realise that closer is not necessarily easier. I hope that you all had a good time and that you’ll be back if we run another one, because without you people, we got nothing. See more

04.01.2022 Results from the weekend. Placings in the TRA match were determined by their decimal score. Overall placings were determined by using the IRB and RBA scores as shot plus the TRA decimal score converted to an integer score. The conversion is based upon 10.3 and above being an X, 10.0-10.2 just a 10 and the others were just the integer value of the score. eg 9.9 -> 9.

02.01.2022 Just 9 shooters for today's comp which was not unexpected as it was Anzac Day and we started late. But late was good for 2 of our members who travel down from Stanthorpe to shoot. Late meant they didn't have to get up at 3am as usual. With winter approaching, perhaps we should consider starting a little later for the next few months. Conditions were reasonable most of the day however those who temped fate by shooting when there was very little to no wind certainly paid the pe...nalty. In the end it was Simon's day just dropping 3 points overall. His last card was only 2X's off the club record. It looks like the Carruthers' have found some good ammo with Kevin shooting 2 x 249's in a row and Ellen not that far behind with the same ammo and gun. don't waste it, you only bought a carton remember. Overall, Simon has stretched his lead a little over Murray but as always Annie is in the background so watch out fellas. It isn't over just yet. See more
