24.01.2022 INVITATION Meetup To Find Out About GovHack GovHack is a volunteer supported community initiative where Governments make available information they have collected and teams determine other ways this data can be used to benefit their community or develop a business idea. ... It is a full-on weekend to be held July 28-30. To give an insight into it Startup Capricorn are holding a Meetup this Tuesday night (July 18) at the Criterion Hotel, starting at 5.30pm. Jason Foss whose team won the event last year will talk about the idea they developed using the data and how they took it from a concept to an application that adds real community value. GovHack is not just for geeks, a team with a diverse skill set will help conceptualise and develop an idea more fully which can lead to the concept having real commercial value to a community or a business. We like to see accountants, marketers, engineers, students, artist's, retirees, anyone who is interested to come along to the Meetup and better understand how they could be the element that makes the concept devised at GovHack more useful and thus valuable. It could also be the way you meet the co-founder of your new business. The Capricorn region's GovHack is sponsored by Rockhampton Regional Council, Livingstone Shire Council and CQUniversity and receives support from the State Government..
