21.01.2022 If you are Ringwood Hawks Coach Tim Mottin, and you are starting the re-build of your NBL1 team in a post COVID era, where do you start? According to Mottin, the answer was pretty simply, Captain Danni Bone. Danni is a great defender, can shoot from deep and plays with passion. Mottin said. She is so versatile and can fill so many areas that she was always going to be a key component as we move on to 2021.... In a team that caught the league by surprise in 2019 by finishing third, Bone was exactly what Mottin described averaging over 8 points per game to go with close to 4 assists and 4 rebounds. At the other end of the floor. Bone was generally handed the toughest defensive assignments having to guard the league’s best scorers which was usually a WNBL star or Opals player. Like everyone else in Victoria, Bone has had to sit at home and watch 2020 slip away but is now getting ready to lead her team in 2021. None of us saw what 2020 was going to give us. Bone said. The shock of losing a season now becomes excitement for a new NBL1 season in 2021. Whilst NBL1 players in Victoria are still not allowed to hit the court as a team, that opportunity looks like it will be a reality in a few short weeks. Bone loves the game and will be one of the first lined up at the stadium door when that day comes. We had a great 2019 season so the bar has been set pretty high. She said. 17.01.2022 A great game from the NBL1 Women gets them the win over Kilsyth Cobras. The girls had some nice shooting from around the floor with 7 threes for the team and 5 from Nakkasoglu. Defensive pressure to force turnovers and to get steals was a highlight from the team and they look to continue this chemistry into tomorrow night's game against Frankston Some key players from tonight's game include Hope Terdich who stepped up both on the offence and defence, with 2 steals and 7 points; Toni Farnworth came up clutch with some late baskets that extended the lead and turned the tide for Ringwood. #truetoringwood
