25.01.2022 Our business manager Colin getting in on the cuddles! When we say our entire teams number one priority is the welfare of our patients we mean everyone

25.01.2022 It always amazes me how Golden’s can be just so smart, yet so silly, all at the same time. Here is Augustus lapping up the camera attention at his big vaccination appointment today! Well done, big guy! Remember that although our dogs have been loving the extra lock-down attention, it’s important to make a serious effort to keep up with their socialisation and enrichment. It’s been especially challenging with puppies, where this is such a critical developmental time in their ...lives. If you have a new puppy, consider; Enrolling into a puppy school or kinder program, many have re-opened. Daily, controlled outdoor activity in a low-risk environment to get puppy used to traffic, bin-night and their new puppy harness! Command training, such as sit, drop, stay and roll-over all help to provide mental enrichment and stimulation. Speaking with your family veterinarian about what activities are suitable for your puppy to thrive in challenging circumstances.

24.01.2022 Eye see you! Have you seen an eye ulcer before? An ulcer is essentially a defect, like a scratch, on a the cornea. They which can be pretty tricky to see with the naked eye. This yellow dye sticks into any exposed underlying cornea and shines bright like Christmas under a blue light. If your pet gets sore eyes, please - don't wait! Always get it checked as soon as possible. Eye ulcers are incredibly common and can jeopardise vision, or the eyeball itself.

23.01.2022 We would very much like to introduce you to Sashimi ! At only 11 weeks old, Sashimi was just far too little to be fighting for her life in hospital. This cheeky little girl had found her way into some dangerous human medication at home, and subsequently developed deadly pneumonia. Sashimi's time is hospital was full of heartbreak, and the unknown was agonising. Despite the dire situation, her mum stood behind her and worked with us get Sashimi the urgent therapy she needed... to take the only chance at saving her life. The tube in the photograph is delivering food through her nose directly into her stomach. The yellow bandage on her leg is delivering up to 10 different medications, at any one time. But, after 4 days of acute critical care in hospital, Sashimi was finally reunited with her family! And, what's more, has made a full recovery!

21.01.2022 Well, this wasn’t exactly what we envisioned when we ordered a burger and some zucchini fries!

18.01.2022 We’re always so happy to see our patients feeling well-enough and comfy enough to eat in hospital. Dr. Vicky was so excited to see Bingo start eating again, she took this video! In fact, he was feeling so well after this video that he chewed his drip line in half! THREE TIMES! Take a close look - can you guess which vein the doctor has used to administer intravenous fluids in this giant bunny?

18.01.2022 Caution to Maroondah pet-parents! Something I need you to read if your dog gets off-lead exercise in our area. This darling retriever was enjoying her happy off-lead escapades this morning. Not shortly after, her mum noticed the area was literally littered with dying, recently deceased and decaying rat carcasses. It is suspected these rats have been recently poisoned as part of a pest management program. Although gorgeous golden wasn't seen to eat anything, she came to see me... and we decided to induce vomiting, just in case. And yes, to my suprise - poisoned rat guts! She's very lucky to have a vigilant mum at her side, and will receive more testing in coming days. Be careful, pet-parents - the world isn't always a dog-friendly place. Dr. Vicky

18.01.2022 It can be hard for animals to be away from their families while they are in hospital. It is a new and sometimes scary environment for sick and injured animals. It is something we recognise and always do everything we can to minimise. Sometimes all they need is some one on one time with our wonderful nurses. We also encourage our patients families coming in and visiting your pet while they are staying with us in hospital. You can also bring your other pets along to visit too! Your pets mental well-being is just as important as their physical health.

17.01.2022 Having a bit of a hard night? Here - have a happy pug! You're welcome!

16.01.2022 Need to book an appointment? Our new receptionist in training will be more than happy to assist! Be sure to cut her a little bit of slack though, she’s been having a ruff time learning our booking system #dadjokes #sorrynotsorry

13.01.2022 George isn’t letting his sore tummy get the better of him! We highly doubt that he’s learnt his lesson about eating more than his little tummy can handle!

12.01.2022 Are you having a bad day? Couldn't be any worse than poor Louis! This Aussie bulldog pup came off second best against a bee. Not to stress, Louis has since been back for his vaccination, and is doing awesome. Not sure if he's learnt his lesson, though...

12.01.2022 I’ll just have a little off the ends and a pink polish on top. Who knew nail trims could be so casual

11.01.2022 Snap lockdowns and social distancing restrictions have seen our usually bustling waiting area a little more on the quiet side these past few weeks. And whilst we all enjoy a little peace and quiet from time to time; our Customer Experience personnel all agree an empty waiting room just doesn't quite real right! Somewhere it's never quiet though, is out in the hospital. There's always someones fur baby to care for, always another test to be run, and always a common goal to work towards - saving lives, one animal at a time. So to our lovely clientele, we appreciate you all so much, and we love being there for you when you need us the most.

08.01.2022 And, just like that, this computer station is now out of order. After all, what sort of heartless monster disturbs a sleeping cat? Share with us your pets very ‘convenient’ sleeping spots!

06.01.2022 That’s a good way to lose those fingers, nurse Taylor!

06.01.2022 Have we introduced you to the world's most expensive cat perch, our hospital-grade endoscope? Thanks, Dr. Muma....

04.01.2022 Little Shadow came in today for a CT scan of her abdomen and was lucky enough to wake up getting snuggles from our nurse Meredith. She’s such a beautiful girl, such a pleasure to have in the clinic today
