24.01.2022 The bridge will be opened on Saturday 27th March to two lanes of traffic. It is understood that the opening to traffic is dependent on at least three days of r...easonable weather to allow the road surface to cure. The old bridge will be closed to road and pedestrian traffic shortly afterwards. The final two lanes and pedestrian access will open once the approach lanes and walkway entry points have been constructed with the old bridge will be demolished over the coming months. An official (invitation only) opening will take place early in the morning, with a smoking ceremony, speeches and ribbon cutting. Joe...l Ware and Jake Crooke from JJs at The Marina roped in locals to take part, with 16-year-old Joel filming it all on his smartphone. It all comes under the spectre of bushfires in the region. Lives have been lost, homes destroyed, and business seriously affected by the drop-off in tourism. 19.01.2022 The Angels are flying High over Rio Rita we survived another day of these devastating days. We also received a bit of rain not a lot but enough to wet the floor which helped. Just as we have lost all power again in the Bay.

19.01.2022 At this stage there is still no power to the Bay due to the fires we are currently on watch and act at this point in time things can change very quickly. With hourly checks throughout the night Rio Rita has made it through the night SAFELY.

18.01.2022 A MASSIVE Thank you to the Lewis Family for opening their gates to Rio Rita Caravan Park in these hard times and helping out a community in need when they need it with hot water, safety, cooking facilities and shelter when people needed it. Rio Rita has opened its gates in these hard times to people who have been evacuated or lost their homes or still with out power etc. To use their facilities or have a place to stay. So thank you for your open hearts and kindness.

15.01.2022 Whilst things are complex surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Rio Rita will remain Open for business . Come stay with us we have plenty of room for social distancing, with plenty of space for kids to run around, parents and grandparents to just relax. You can be assured that all parks amenities are being cleaned and disinfected to the highest standard.

Sleeps 5 people, additional bedding can be available upon request if required. Only 100 metres to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the town centre. Main bedroom queen bed and second bedroom double bed bunk with single bed on top.

05.01.2022 Batemans Bay Bridge UPDATE: as at 10:00am March 29th. The Bridge will NOT be opening to traffic today at 2pm as advised by Live Traffic. ... Transport NSW have advised that there are further works required to be undertaken before the two western lanes are open. They advise that it is hoped that the two western lanes will be open to traffic before the Easter Weekend. 01.01.2022 UPDATE: Batemans Bay Bridge opening - as at 7:00pm March 29th 2021 A Transport for NSW spokesperson has advised The Beagle: The new bridge will open overnight o...r early Tuesday morning. Pedestrians and cyclists will continue to use the old bridge for a few days until temporary ramps are built across the closed highway to connect the new shared path with the existing shared path network.
