We are forever indebted to the three only hospices in Australia for children with a terminal illness and their families - Bear Cottage Very Special Kids and Hummingbird House. What these places do is beyond measure - treat the whole child, promote the quality of life and support the family is but a start. 14.01.2022 Bear Cottage chefs Owen and Shannah take great pride in serving healthy and nourishing food for children and families. Food is their special way of helping them... feel right at home, which is what Bear Cottage is all about. They’re always happy to cook a favourite meal for a child, whip up a cake for a special event or bake Owen’s famous scones. Karen and Ryan of Rio's Legacy know first-hand the importance of Bear Cottage’s home-cooked meals which is why they have generously donated $20,000 towards the vital food program. Their support will help to provide nutritious meals for children and families, as well as a chance for them to connect with each other over the shared dining table.
