Last month I meet organic growers Elizebeth and Robert from Funky Farmer at the Byron Bay Farmers Market and we arranged to have some of their beautiful turmeric sent down to Ripe. We have both Red and Gold turmeric in stock. Elizebeth said the Gold turmeric is stronger in flavor but the Red is spicy- the Gold is good for teas and red good for marinades- stock is limited so get in early

From the back left to right here the list: Cox Orange Pippin, Mutsu, Liberty, Medlee, Crimson, Golden Delicious, Jonathan, Blenheim Orange, Snow, Gala, Fuji, Classic Pippin, Spartan, Belle de Broksopp, Reinette du Canada, Jonathan, and finally everyones fav- Pink Lady. My pick is the Reinette du Canada its a little tart in flavour and will go well with cheese and white wine.

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, I would like to let you know about a report that has just been released by Dr Liza Oates as part of PhD project at RMIT. Here is very brief summary: The study found a 90% reduction in pesticide residues in adults who eat organic foods after only 7 days!! Look out for some media reports which will hopefully come out over the next week.
